Jordan Weber-Flink

Great chapter. Maybe add a short reminder or character list at the top? I got confused about a couple of the women.

dkpfrog

Tftc!

Felix Giron

Tian tea nerdity is grim and delicious! More please.

LordAlton

I cannot wait for someone to make that connection. One of the bummers of no side PoV chapters is we probably won't get to see the look on the face of the person who figures it out.

Matt DiMeo

I’m sure it’sa perfectly innocent assault and battery and not whatever you are thinking.

Bingus

'The gate guard gave Tian a bleary look, and grabbed him up into a reeling dance.' ... 'Liren crashed in and body checked the dancing guard into the wall.' 👀👀👀

RainbowPhaze

Can't believe Tian has caused THREE separate ascensions to the heavenly realm at this point. Fu, of course, Mei, and now Bai. In case you can't tell what I mean, Bai received her revelation when there was a purple light in the east. Tian is east of the wastes, and recently saved a very important child's life causing a purple and virtuous light to rush southwards.

Morog T Tiny

The signs from heaven are often signs that some old monster has found some way to co-opt heaven and steal away your treasures. Be circumspect, prepare and watch your back!

Raymond Mouton

Thanks for the chapter. Good one.

Josiah Elliott

Tian and Hong seem to have a destiny about them, and that may be shaking up the old patterns of qi enough to finally kickstart some motion.

William Johnson

Ten thousand years for big sis Bai! Thanks for the chapter!

LUXRUS

Memories of the Fall has prepared me to be suspicious of auspicious signs from heaven

Chad L.

Once again, people stare as I laugh out loud.

Chad L.

“Also I want to start encouraging you to beat the hell out of any alchemist you catch trying to make medicine out of lead and mercury.”

Enkelados

That's a lot of break throughs in very little time. What is going on?

Sean Shivers

Ok bai ascending would be very narrative... Fu did. They've always had a rivalry. It only seems fair. So I don't trust it. Even if it's true, if I wanted to take out a convent this is when I'd attack. Either other cultivators who are mad about reforms, heretics who heard about the weakness, or heretics who forged a letter. It's probably true but I still don't trust good things.

Kain

True but too many wins in a row is just inviting disaster, and the more and bigger the wins the more devastating the disaster, usually.

Robert Mullins

Fu got the tribulation for killing a heavenly person realm figure while while still in the earthly realm. The fact that he ascended immediately after is more of a happy accident.

Noroh

LETS GOOOOOOO! TEN THOUSAND YEARS FOR SENIOR SISTER BAI!

Doubledoor

Well, they are driving it at least a bit. Our favourite Mad Dog broke through partially because of the lessons he learned from raising Tian and I imagine Bai's came at least partially because she started to believe it was possible again. Truly the best balance for progression novels imo. The MC is central for the world's upheaval, but the world reacts to it beyond the immediate.

João Vene

This being a Warby story, I'm immediatly on guard. Brother Fu had a real revelation and dared defy the heavenly hierarchy, so the Mad God sent a tribulation. Sister Bai had a revelation so... scholars and generals descended from the heavens? Is this the hand of the Mad God? Did Bai get a heavenly nudge so she'd get a revelation and ascend, but the revelation is some poisened fruit in order to stop the Monastery from reforming? And the scholars and generals are heavenly messengers to get Sister Bai on that? It might be the other way too. There's some fuckery going around with merit and roots, with the heretics stealing and severing, and Tian and Hong (and the crane) stopping that. The purple light of dawn, the primordial yang, was mentioned several times when they stopped the heretics, along with the golden merit. So did Hong's shared of merit flow upwards in the filial hierarchy thingie, together with the purple light of dawn, reach Big Sister Bai who raised Hong to have good morals and respect the law, and also kill heretics? And it was enough to push her over to the heavenly realm? And the revelation involved Bai having her eyes go golden and she started preaching on virtue, like we saw several children do? But the ultra instinct version, where you even manifest the scholars and generals whose past life wisdon she's preaching?

Vainirion

I can already picture future-Tian muttering to himself “Should this little monk slap the bitch?”

habu987

Sound like Tian needs to start working on his Dragon's Fury Heavenly Hand of Admonishment slapping technique for when he inevitably comes across a gaggle of alchemists

Teach

Absolutely love how the plot is moving forward despite our main characters moseying around in the country for a few years. It makes the world feel so much more alive. Tian and Hong aren’t the drivers for these events, they’re just trying to surf the title wave.

David Bailey

TEN THOUSAND YEARS!

JackassofAllTrades

Congrats to Big Sis Bai, she would never let Mad Dog Fu show her up! Wonder what the relationship between those two is like in private. Probably mirrors Tian/Hong somewhat. Dao companions?

Joshua Gunty

Hong keeps getting these wins and I love that for her.
