I'll probably get some crap for this. The red tea description reads like the "notes" tag on tea I could buy at Walmart. Your previous descriptions of tea, even the bad ones, offered mystery. Even if there wasn't much to work with, there was a possibility that the tea was something more. No more tea descriptions without wonder!

"Tian smiled a little, flicking his long hair out like wings." ->like...with his hands? Reaching behind his back or up to his head? Does he have hair control now? I dont think you could simultaneously flick hair out to both sides with just a head movement. Really enjoyed the chapter.

Oddly specific guess for a small part of the next chapter: the toad gives Liren a gift and/or the toad and Liren immediately get along great, as she has a good taste in things. Which further infuriates Tian, but because everything is so new with Liren, he has to pretend the toad is great too, as the toad continues to look down on tian for being broke lol

I think that stems from Warby's decision to keep the story so tightly focused on Tian's pov. (outside of epilogue chapters anyway) He's not privy to what's actually happening with the crane in that moment so neither are we. It's not the first time the author has "offscreened" a major event for a side character. An intentional writing decision, though one you're perfectly free to criticize.

I'm usually the last to complain about the lack of neeedless bells and whistles in a scene. As they are a great way to kill te pace of a story. But crane going sapient has been sufficiently built up that it deserves some lights and noise, some gravity. Just taking her from 0 to 1 with no fanfare seems underwhelming.
