"you see me now" what a great line. Very visceral to read and nailed the impact it had. Awesome chapter

Griffus

Could the prophet of zolomator be atroxcidi? The esiest way to stop the spell engines would be for Mirian to create a substituye like using the leylines for the same purpose so there is no more "polution" . Also dis we get to know what the last glyph in the laberynth did? Because It would be stupid not to try to see what it means.

Thanks! And good catch, fixed.

I think we will learn that none of them failed in what they *actually* wanted to do. It’s just their grand sacrifices and time-loop sculpted machinations had more impacts that are seen as failures in the eyes of history

Oh hell, this chapter is just _so_ _so_ good! Thank you! It was the absolute perfect mix of character work (Mirian is becoming more and more otherworldly), progress (learning about smuggling, how Mirian can now easily free Arenthia) and worldbuilding (Zolomator, no everything Arenthia says). btw, I think "Ravantha" is "Ravatha"?

I just hope that Miriam gets some real lasting companionship soon. She is walking very close to the edge. Absolutely brilliant writing and characterization as always. <3

Woo bonus chapter! Thanks

Ike5421

She needs to discover the equivalent of renewables that power the spell engines but doesn't release the mana. My guess is that the laylines are the answer to that. If they power enough of society using the laylines, then it would be a balancing act of using enough power from the laylines to keep them stable, but also probably using the current engines as to not deplete the laylines.

Honestly it seems one of the only ways mirian could feasibly stop the moon falling in a month is if she developed both a faster means of travel and a method of mass glyph destruction and spent her loops going from major city to major city just destroying all spell engine reliant machinery. The only real long term solution i can think of is mirian makes herself into this immortal boogeyman like the necromancer who goes around destroying spell engines to try and scare people from using them

Arkeus

I do wonder if the failure of some of the past prophets can be chalked down to them settling for making things not apocalyptic rather than good, or just having so much trauma they mostly give up after a while. The choice of prophet doesn't seem perfect after all.

Nik

What is more interesting is that it’s Not necessarily Gabriel who said that

Thanks

I think Gabriel is right, if Mirian wants to save the world for longer than until humans manage to disrupt the ley lines by over draining them the way Mirian is planning to or build more giant airships that push the ley lines she is going to have to reshape society. Probably the best change she could make would be one were Viridian was taken seriously when he warned of the apocalypse, at least seriously enough for people to try and confirm his hypothesis, as it is one of the only ways humanity could have intentionally headed off the apocalypse without the Omnian stepping in. Rediscovering and activating the gates would be a good idea to ensure this reshaping reaches all of humanity otherwise spell engines will just be used by a group in a different country or when a new group settlers goes somewhere and wants a competitive advantage in the short term without thought to the long term costs.
