Regnar

Jericho was just awakened and taught soul magic ... maybe they mercy-killed Celeste permanently?

icesharkk

where did the second needle come from. i was so expecting Liuan to have betrayed the council and that to be the big reveal this chapter. edit: i've changed my mind. the second needle is probably Liuan's. The Liuan that we know is not the same one that jherica met. the mask of the prophet that makes a perfect disguise has been in play all along.

Daniel Andrews

I think the most politically dangerous Prophet is Gabriel. He seems to have hidden depths. Luan is an unknown also. But she seems predictably distrustful.

chumponimys

Crackpot theory: you're right that whatever happened during the attempted resurrection caused a situation that would be world ending if the mausoleum is on Enteria. So that situation triggered a prophet. And after hundreds of years (loop time) of becoming increasingly exacerbated and trying increasingly crazy things, the final prophet settled for gathering as much leyline repelling material (same stuff the mega battle blimps use) as possible from all the labyrinths they could find and ripping out the biggest chunk of land around the exposure site that they could.

Erebus

I liked them going to walk the park. Even reading it helped a little. Sitting on a bench in nature out in the day.. makes you feel more alive. A still moment. The heaviness lessens a little, and you can breathe. It’s a peaceful feeling that I desperately want to feel, hah.

Erebus

Thanks for the chapter 🙂

Matthew

I wonder if Mirian will make a short range gate spell based on the elder gates

Kadi

Maybe she just didn't see him when he arrived early (because he was hiding and scouting). That's kind of what I expect of him, really.

Kadi

The moon seems to be held up by the leylines. Leylines collapse, moon crashes. The Akanans have ships "flying" on the leylines. Maybe all the way up to the moon, with some meddling?

Enthernal

I feel like there's some interesting points here. The "fight" between the two elder creatures is interesting, unfortunately I can't recall much about the cataclysm to work out any details. That being said, I do think this lines up with the feeling I've been getting that Mirian is on the wrong track trying to stop the war and the eruptions from going off all together and have all the Akanans change their ways is just too unreasonable. I feel Ibrahim pointing it out in this chapter again is a nudge in that direction. Conductors argument might match up with another thought I've had about the fall of the Divir moon. Now that we know that it's a PART of Mayat Shadr, we also know that it's nowhere near the size of an actual moon. Considering they can see it with the naked eye, we also know it can't be that high up. Finally, we know it falls over an extended period of time, so it's not all that fast, at least initially. Add all 3 points together and the "armageddon" that's described when the moon falls doesn't seem to make sense just accounting for the natural forces. I think Ibrahim might be closer to the truth then we're led to believe. We don't know what went wrong during the attempted resurrection of the Omnian, or why it caused the mausoleum to be raised as it was. My guess is that whatever happened caused a situation that would be world ending if it happened on Enteria, and therefore the whole place was raised up into space where it's disconnected enough from Enteria to not trigger. It would explain why Conductor doesn't want to gate to be opened. Maybe he hopes that if she goes there Physically she might get a clue of why it would be dangerous to open the gate there. It also would give a more accomplish-able solution to the time loop, there would still be a war started, only to be interrupted by the destruction of the leyline erupting and the moon descending, but it wouldn't be (as) cataclysmic and survivable enough. depending on how it happens, it might even be enough to interrupt the war from happening and putting the Akanans in their place.

Mundane

It's ok Gabriel, when she yells at you for being late just ask her to give you another chance. If you could do it all again you would not be late. ;)

Zurko

I think its a bit different. He said "BOTH pacts must be enforced" meaning there is overlap between them (at least to travel to the moon). The first pact is between humans and gods. I'm pretty sure this one is giving humans access to the elder gates and all the rules the elder beasts enforce when using them. There is definitely more to the pact that is lost to time. The second pact is unknown at this point. From what the conductor says, it seems that traveling to the moon, while its within the rules of the first pact, is not allowed by the second pact for some reason. Basically a second contract that has only come into play in this instance.

Amadhe

It’s never enough to quench my thirst. Back to waiting I go though.

Nicholas

Thanks for the chapter. Excellent as usual.

Mr NerfGun

I think getting a POV of the other prophets before the situation of competing interests gets resolved would be more harmful than anything. If we as readers learn that they could actually trust each other, then we would get constantly frustrated by Mirian's paranoia.

UraniumPhoenix

It's deliberately unclear at this point.

CherMi

THESE FIELDS MUST REMAIN UNBURNT - this sounds like whatever the cataclysm was, it's still ongoing and opening the gate to the Divir moon may either resume it or something like that? I'm pretty sure Mirian will have to actually follow up on learning dervish stances to get to the moon to find out.

Apoca

I wonder if Jherica is better because of the loop. Last loop there was already some brain damage from the curse. Probably. If the body reflects the soul, then maybe the soul reflects the body. Miriam kept her changes within a soul up with a technique when she disguised herself, but maybe Jherice body getting healed every loop slowly fixes the soul

Enthernal

It was one of my first guesses as well, but I doubt it, although it's not impossible. We don't know the details of why, but he commits suicide within hours of the start of the loop, before anyone can get to him. It might be he stopped at some point, but if he did I would expect him to realize how dangerous the loop is and how having a kill switch is paramount. On the other hand, if Liuan wanted someone to pratice on, he'd be the only target of the known prophets, so it's not totally impossible either. Mirian really should check on him again.

Robert Mullins

So Conductor is a 'Herald' and direct representative of the god of law and terror. And Eyeball is not at the same level, or at least, not a representative of an elder God. Or are the heralds a different group?

Apoca

Conductor is cheating and changing the terms. Before it was not needed for Miriam to be there. Miriam could have gotten a memory from somebody else and that would have counted.

Will Iam

The guy that commits suicide should be the second one unless there was another traveller.

Mirian dragging the others kicking and screaming into progress is always a fun time. We had a small pov of liuan meeting mirian but i would absolutely love to see how the others saw her given just how much she knows and the abilities she's revealed so far
