Thaabit Rivertree

Liuan couldnt find a vault? Riiiight. Sounds like she's using Jherica to spy on Mirian.

UraniumPhoenix

The way I have it in my notes, having 1 gate open ends the cycle on Duala 21, while having 2 gates open moves it to Duala 25. Then +3 days (and a few hours) gets you to Merisheth 1. All months are 28 days in this world. How useful!

Léon Geide

He (being said arch-necromancer) still will not retain his memories into the next loop. The time she told him being already more than one loop back. So it can be assumed she didn’t tell him in this loop (or that that is what Ibrahim would believe). Now, left open is whether he questions what she promised him in said loop. Since she did learn something from him in that first loop your concern might be valid. - then again, there’s more than one person that found solice in the promise of something happening in that last loop, ‘when it counts’.

Léon Geide

> With the addition of a second temporal needle in the Ominian, the cycles now lasted all the way through Duala until the 1st of Merisheth, sometime just after midnight. Again, the math doesn’t check out. Last I remember it was that the cycle continued until the 21st of Duala, which was after opening the long distance Gate from Torrviol to Madinahr. That +3 days doesnt make a week (assuming Duala also has 28 days like Solem seems to have)

Khrome

It kinda doesnt make sense that Ibrahim was able to blitz someone who survived the 4th level of the labyrinth.

lenkite

Not to mention she tries to steal Mirian's spellbook after telling her not to bring it to the meeting. That showed her real character.'

lenkite

> “Does it matter? He’ll forget.” This excuse doesn't work - since Ibrahim already knows she told him about the moon falling and the loops.

lenkite

> Liuan was the one left stunned She was already told much earlier - looks like Liuan was "replaced". Mirian should have realized this was suspicious.

Orion Fritz

I mean, maybe, but surely it'd be better to just carve a message into his desk then use the relicarium on the wood scraps.

Kevin O'Malley

His wife has died in his arms 200+ times, saving her would make a change.

Matt Anderson

I've been pondering how to reach Celen, and I came up with an answer, though I'm not sure if it would be worth the relicarium, assuming she could get some without Gabriel noticing. Could Mirian bind Celen's wand to her soul so that the next loop it's missing? This might force him to contend with the fact that something has changed. It might be enough to make him hold off a loop and see what's going on.

Crystal Llily

Okay that's actually very smart, and it makes sense, as each of those previous loops seemed far longer than this one, so even an early kill would take a whole lot of "our" loops to reach

Mr NerfGun

If And Troytin was lost in madness anyway.

Shane T.

Here’s a hot take for the theory crafting pot, it’s a little long winded so strap in. All the ideas passed around here seem convinced Liuan or an unknown active prophet removed the second needle. Completely plausible but I feel it’s improbable unless there’s an alternate method. SOO... I think it’s possible the second needle came from a past era time loop and Mirian was simply the first out of ALL prophets of EVERY era to do so. This theory isn’t exactly new as two chapters ago (and one or two of its comments) it was briefly discussed the mausoleum exists outside of time as they experience it. It’s also been discussed (at the last council meetup I believe) that there were around 50 people kneeling before the Ominian in a vision while Mirian alone stood. Could there be 40+ hidden time traveling monkeys running around in the current era? Maybe but probably not; the idea that those 50 anchors were distributed between each iteration of time loops has also been briefly discussed. This implies that the prophets of EVERY era saw Mirian stand. If the anchors returning did so chronologically as humans understand it, why wasn’t the statue already a pin cushion from prophets of eras past since day one? There should be at least six right? Perhaps we’ll see dozens more return as time goes on. Of course nothing’s saying it has to operate in a way that makes sense, maybe Big Boss Ominian threw the other needles away, but there seems to be a logic to how it all works even if it’s somewhat outside common human understanding. Let me know what you all think! Feel free to poke holes 😛 just thought I’d bring the idea back and expand on it.

Daniel Andrews

Damn, I wish Gabriel was at this meeting. He’s definitely my favourite prophet so far.

Joe ?

I wonder how guilty mirian will feel when she finds out liuan was the real power behind sulvorath and she was manipulating him.

Erebus

Wish I could just fall asleep, lose a bunch of time, and wake up to a whole lot of new chapters to read lol

Erebus

Thanks for the chapter 🙂

Ike5421

I am so excited that Mirian will finally have a true ally in Jherica. I hope she takes Jherica under her wing in a major way.

FuriousDee

Liuan was definitely hiding something when she and Mirian first meet she brings Troytin up first and only uses the name Sulvorath to describe him. She also never mentions a confrontation.

FuriousDee

I would be surprised if she had cracked tribonded runes and glyphs and had enough knowledge of the fourth dimension to not accidentally reset her target. But she could have been working with Troytin.

HJSecond

It really seems like Liuan was working with Troytin with the snippets of Jherica's memory we have been getting. Troytin mentioned others' plural when talking about prophets he defeated in addition to Celen and Jherica but Liuan hasn't mentioned any more at all. Maybe the 2nd needle removed is Liuan finally replicating something similar to what Mirian did to Troytin on a hidden cursed prophet.

Morog T Tiny

Ibrahim needs to have a reason not to be the way he is... but if his actions continue then he is too much of a loose cannon. I think saving his woman would change his motivations but he has been 17 years or so doing this...

Justin

Really enjoyed it. Thanks for the chapter

HJSecond

I don't think the Relicarium has anything to do with time travel itself, it just binds objects to the soul, so that would just result in a chthonic needle that isn't lost in a reset.

Mundane

This story is just so good! The tension, the progress, the setbacks, the world building, the characters being real fleshed out people with layers of motivations...it's just so good! <3

Apoca

Hmm... what if the temporal needle is just chthonic needle covered with the miracle metal from the Vault?

AntiClimax she her

And that's my crackpot theory. It was the Akanans all along.

AntiClimax she her

Now I'm wondering about the soul markings on Troytin. They could just as easily be used to pass information without the courier knowing as they could for "remembering" the timeloop when you're not in it. If Liuan was the real power behind Sulveroth, Troytin was probably a living messenger for her RID agents. Also, after Troytin was removed, I wouldn't be surprised if she bent research into figuring out how to do it. She's got the resources, so long as she was able to locate another looper Mirian was unaware of -- and with the RID and Akana church under her control, she had the best information network in the world we've seen so far. Did Mirian intentionally reveal she knew RID protocol to mislead Liuan as to how she identified the agents?

Apoca

If only Mercanton would have a gate...

Mr NerfGun

Soul coating.

Zurko

I'd like to see if she has learned anything from her dad the past few loops. She'll need his teachings if she ever fights Ibrahim because her regular spells won't get through his resistance.

Robert Mullins

Mirian channeling her inner Kratos like: "No more. For the sake of Enteria, we must be better."

Kyfe

I think she was allied with Troytin and lied about it to Mirian so she wouldn't get yeeted out of the Time Loop. From Jherica's slip up, it sounds like Liuan was the one he was most involved with and afraid of.

Anotherb Account

Awesome, lots of ways this could play out, starting to feel the “digging into new plot arc” fun rising

Metal(Liz)ard🏳️‍⚧️

Cracks already showing in the alliance lmao. Pretty sure liuan suspects or is assuming mirian was the one to eject troytin from the loop

LeoClashes

Tftc!
