Edit (you put this paragraph twice) **Mirian opened the Mahatan Gate, sent a zephyr falcon to Gabriel, stole Prince Rehiz’s jeweled lotuses, then headed down to Urubandar. A few Mirian opened the Mahatan Gate, sent a zephyr falcon to Gabriel, stole Prince Rehiz’s jeweled lotuses, then headed down to Urubandar.**

Nope. Mirian's only dealt with the military leadership of Alkazaria previously because it was under siege at the time. It's been implied Alkazaria has a different government structure than Palendurio but not detailed.

has the Council of Five been mentioned before? i cant remember if it has, and if so in which chapter

icesharkk

thats what we in the business call a clue. a big fat clue. no idea what it means. especially in the vault with the aminian missing. there have been other scenes where both the 9th and the ominian are present i think.

Assuming you're right, that'd send the relicarium back into the labyrinth once it's unbound. That sounds like an annoying process to have to repeatedly go through

FuriousDee

Will relicum used on an item be unused if the loop ends and it isn’t bound to a soul. I think it would because the items get looped because the soul they are bound to does and if they aren’t bound it should get undone like everything else. This potentially makes relicum much more usable if you need a tool for a while but have a greater need in the future. Mirian just needs to learn to unbind relics from a soul. Honestly she should learn to do that anyway incase she ends up against a hostile prophet with an artefact in the future.

i feel like the ring with his initials messes with this theory somewhat "I know it’s 99.9999% impossible", ah i'm not the brightest am i.

Kain

A thought just struck me and while I know it’s 99.9999% impossible it would be very funny/depressing. What if Gaius isn’t her father. He’s the finest soul/mind mage in the entire world and it’s not close. What if he found her in previous cycles she was just never aware of him and he spent cycle after cycle slowly changing the scaring/soul magic affecting her memories. He can leave notes to himself between cycles by using other profits soul either Ibrahim before he got so good at the self immolation technic or Gabriel would have been easy for him to use as a notebook, and she makes a better candidate for his spell because she does in fact already have memory altering soul magic in her mind. Then once he’s done he sets his memory re-writing spell to trigger on her contacting him. Boom now he has a profit with absolute trust in him that he could say manipulate into someday maybe getting him a chronospike instead of his soul spike and make himself a profit. That said I like him as the loving misunderstood father a lot more than just another stereotypical necromancer = evil genius way more.

what’s up with the feminine god from chapter 141? there are 8 elder gods including zomalator that are known about by common people, so what’s up with this 9th one? as well as this, its mentioned that the rock of the statue of this mysterious god is the same gray with greenish veins as her focus. does it have something to do with the Reliquary of the Nameless God mentioned in chapter 116, as being something stolen from the santcums vaults? maybe the luminates and the deeps had an agreement to provide foci in exchange for ___ but they eventually lost the elder reliquary/the knowledge to make foci out of it. "Her thoughts cast back to the shrine at the end of the Frostland’s Gate Vault. There had been eight statues of the Elder Gods. The Ominian had been absent, and the eighth god had been one she’d never heard of." circa chapter 183. “Then her heart skipped again. She had missed it initially, but one of the statues covered in detritus was the ninth Elder God. Just like in the Vault of the Labyrinth, three swords pierced the chest of this unknown God.” circa chapter 198

Cycles of violence are just not something you can fix in 2 months, it takes peace, time and most importantly acceptance.

Typo on “examined”! “Mirian examiened the detector.” Fantastic chapter, as usual. Thanks for writing this story!

Tim

Can't wait to find out how the high priest knows about 'them' - and presumably he knows more about the pact too!

DrSubterfuge

"She could show the priest what he’d seen: the cavernous sphere of flesh encircling a red sun." Should "she'd seen" I think? Thanks for the chapter!

UraniumPhoenix

Yup, thanks. Fixed.

UraniumPhoenix

Yeah they glow more now

god she keeps running into real problems that don’t have answers (Global warming and cycles of violence) on top of her fantasy problems that don’t have any answers (The moon falling down and the leylines falling up) it’s brilliant and it actually establishes challenges for an uberpowerful character that they have to meaningfully wrestle with, I love it. I think that the discovery of a loop limited resource like Relicarum by the other prophets will break the council and Mirian will be forced to do something drastic to bring them together again.

Evgenii Grishin

Awesome as always, thank you for chapter!

Orion Fritz

Out of curiosity, Did Mirian's eyes change with her third soul ascension? The first one made her eyes shine a dim grey. The second one made them shine bright. But I don't remember anything being said about her eyes after the third one.

Love it, love all of it. Just a plot progression one (they can’t all be hauntingly beautiful or epic lore dumps) , but boy am I a sucker for Miriam declaring herself to a variety of doubters aha, love it every time.

powerless film

Thanks for the chapter!! Think there was a small issue in the first couple paragraphs, probably meant Gabriel not Jherica here: “The place reeked of alcohol, and Jherica was swinging about a bottle of wine like a musical conductor.”
