Will Sargent

which prophet do you think the Unmoored is?

Clara

Okay but imagine it from the perspective of the other prophets. Mirian tries to to politics, loses her marbles and goes on a rampage, then disappears forever

Talana

I am obsessed; waiting for new chapters is agony.

Mr NerfGun

It is likely to be just a deathworld kinda place. So not friendly for humans. But there's bound to be interesting materials there.

Clara

Personally I think it's nice to see a character use they/them without making a big deal of it

Eris

Hey Uranium Pheonix, love love love your work, this book/series is absolutely phenomenal! Your world building, the slow reveal of the mysteries, character building, progression, have all been masterfully done! I've absolutely binged YoA and believe it stands along side Mother of Learning as its own unique story. I have a few minor critiques I believe would elevate your writing from a 9.9/10 to a solid 10/10. 1) as a nonbinary person I love the inclusion of Marva and Jherica, and also the Ominian/etc, that said it was a little jarring to jump to they/them pronouns for Jherica without any explanation. 2) Mirian doesn't follow up with Liuan about finding Scebur, all this needs is a sentence or two of Mirian's thoughts explaining why 3) this is the one that bothers me the most even though it's so stupidly minor, it still breaks my immersion - the phrase "clenching [their] jaw" gets used so often it feels unnatural/clunky. Sometimes you use 'grinding' instead of clenching and that helps alleviate this, I propose: purses their lips, tightens their jaw, etc, you're an excellent writer I think you'll do fine coming up with ideas here

I love how after a certain point, there's a comment basically every chapter of "Mirian should really save Ibrahim's wife". We all wanna see it, why is she delaying so hard lol.

UraniumPhoenix

I believe the first chapter he shows up in is Ch 218 (though as a presence, not as someone Mirian actually sees), then ch 236 she catches a glimpse of him.

Robert Mullins

In hindsight it makes perfect sense that the god focused on 'The law of Consequences' would also be highly focused on causality preservation.

Clara

Also I really hope Ibrahim gets a soulbound reliquary soon. Mirian c'mon you literally think he's a liability from that angle

Clifton

It matters, because there are an additional thousands years of life to be lived and beauty created. Worrying about eternity and dismissing the now is the same mistake as seeking a perfect solution over a good enough one.

Gopard

Love this... I really hope I'm reading this right and it means cooperation and communication will be essentially the next step and steps after to see rhe prophets finally bring humanity together into solving the literally end of the world. Also... I do wonder will we finally see world beyond the walls explored?

Gopard

Thanks for the chapter!

Gopard

Hmm I suspect this was entirely a joke^^ Yet I find idea to be potentially interesting enough that still completely unlikely for this story that I'll write a bit of an essay about it here XD For anyone who keeps reading now you have been warned lol: So no I don't think the needles could be used even IF they produced "a body with no soul" or a "way to purge exactly one bit of soul out of either the anchor or whatever body it goes to". This is because inside the needles are prophets CURRENTLY in "their own time loop back then in their time period", or atleast that's how I understood this machinery on the moon. This thing if it had computer screens and was in "our universe" would basically be showing the dinosaurs or ancient Rome as a true life feed... So basically by taking out an anchor you would both put the "soul" into "present time" but also interrupt potentially massively the historic timeline... the entire starting point of the loop. might just change and nobody would ever know (because the old starting point hasn't even happened yet after all) what this would do to the memories of the prophets who DO remember the "old timeline" I don't even wanna think about... The Unmoored puts it quite well "Causality must be preserved" So basically she really can't touch that thing because it has probably the potential to just annihilate the entire timeline or something (then again the Unmoored would likely erase Mirian on the big guy's orders before she actually managed to temper with it at all anyways... Mirian got ACCESS so basically "your Soul won't be deleted for accidentally stumbling in here" not "permission to touch and play with divine technology" right?)T At least that's how I understood it... Also from a narrative standpoint it would be WAY to fucking confusing and out of left field to suddenly introduce a way of "also resurrecting the prophets of old lol". Xd

Clara

So the needles contain previous souls? Clearly the answer is to find a body missing a soul and stuff it full of a needle from a previous prophet. This will surely have no consequences

kyle

No matter the God's wisdom, they still squabble and fight like humans. What a soul crushing line. What does it matter that Mirian saves everyone now if they go off themselves a thousand years in the future

Erebus

Yes, one of the better/best writers I’ve come across. Every chapter feels incredible. I… I’m struggling to put into words how nearly every chapter I read makes me feel, lol

Erebus

Ooh, a lot of knowledge learned. Thanks for the chapter 😊

Enthernal

What a chapter. This completely took me by surprise in the best possible way. Mirian finally got some answers she really needed. I can't wait how the story evolves from here on out.

Jacqui Andronicos

Incredible chapter, loved it!

Nathan

Damn is this chapter amazing !

Schuh

Anyone know when the Unmoored shows up first? I would love to see what he witnessed, but at this rate I will have to reread the entire book. Well more like books.

Alexander Dupree

Probably something like 1 elder lifetime so millions of years. She’d die just from so many memories being dumped into her brain it would convert to steam from the density of the information stored.

BaguaBrady

I'd also read the AU version where she makes the other choice here, but I love the way you navigated this conversation

Mr NerfGun

Depending on how large Divitrius' explosion is. She could use a cthonic needle and just go drift into space.

Robert Mullins

To be clear, the implication isn't 'exactly' that there is near infinite time remaining. Rather, its that they can expect their sanity to fail long before their time runs out.

GenericName#4528

They don't have to be that way.

UraniumPhoenix

Yes, I signed with a publisher and audio is part of that deal. I don't know how long it will take, but it will happen!

F

Great chapter, and sets up the true final showdown. I'm surprised there isn't a realistic time limit, as that gives real stakes to each loop. I guess the primary substitute to that is having your anchor pulled away early. Then you're back to linear time and an inevitable death at moon fall.

Armo

So much plot! Beautiful chapter. I loved the talk. Practically infinite remaining time? I hope this helps calm Mirian down, and let her take many, many more rest loops. I hope this helps all the prophets, really. Let’s not burn down another Palendurio. I can’t wait to see how a properly rebalanced Mirian sees things anew. Also, can’t wait to see Mirian drop this on all the other prophets, too. Another hit to Jherica’s confidence…

Michael Vonica

How are you meant to shepard humanity towards fulfilling its potential, when part of you hates humanity for the ugliness of some of its fundamental nature? Humans come with both the good and the bad, and if you can't accept half, how could you want the whole thing? I suppose Mirian has made her choice, and must now find a way to live up to it.

Shaker

This has probably been addressed elsewhere but are there any audiobook plans on the horizon? This series is amazing and I want to make my audiobook only weeb friends listen to it. You are a heck of an author!

GenericName#4528

So first priority should probably be developing habits to keep all the prophets sane enough to help in the final loop. Which probably starts with helping Ibrahim’s wife.

Satya Prateek

Damn

sarvashaktimaan

Practically unlimited time means she doesn't need to take any shortcuts in her preparations, so that is good.

Luan Levandoski

You’re an amazing writer.

SirReality

This chapter made me feel. Beyond the amazing deep lore drop, both the Unmoored's and Mirian's sense of fatigued frustration at humanity being so stubborn and selfish that they imperil everything despite having better options. Good thing this is fiction and nothing like that would ever happen in real life.

Cosmoros Subs

Plot nice

Faultedbeing

So well written!
