Yeah I do want to be clear I'm really enjoying the game so far just wanted to share how the pace is feeling a few mutations in.

I understand what you‘re saying. Things like that are not bugs though. I am rebalancing it all the time, but it is complex and needs time. Thanks for your thoughts.

i feel like there might be a bug with how it escalates because some of the hosts in the middle have been very nearly reshuffles but the first one increased everything by at least one order of magnitude (which is where the 1000x comes from) and like I'm already needing quadrillions to even leave the occipital lobe by the epsilon variant. I will say I totally get it's an idle clicker it's supposed to be something you come and take some 'turns' on then go wait for resources to build just sharing that I think the non-click mutation upgrades feel like a waste right now when you take them (they're NOT to be clear 1% more production is still more this is just vibes based).

there's also some randomization for each host, so it might also be that you got a strong host and now think that it increases a lot, but it's just a bit random. the overall increase is at 10%.

Might be, but it‘s supposed to take longer every time so the Upgrades have to be weaker than the increase overall. The 1000x is just a feeling you have, but that’s what clickers are about in the end. You‘re not supposed to keep actively playing all the time.

so i think most of the mutation upgrades need to be stronger or the increases on mutation need to be less, most of the upgrades barely feel like they do anything meanwhile you need 1000x more just to get started each time

Vaccine development happens very quickly tbh. It is a bit demoralizing considering how long it takes to produce a variant just for it to get a vaccine after 2k infections.
