This is why I don’t like making promises or even giving rough deadlines — things almost always go off track. Plans change, unexpected tasks pop up, and schedules fall apart. That’s why I usually stay quiet during development and only reach out when there’s something to show.
Anyway, I hope you’re doing well and ready to check out this update.
And yeah — a huge thank you to everyone supporting the project. Whether you’ve been here for a long time or just recently joined — there are a lot more of you now, and it honestly means a lot. Thanks for the interest, the patience, and for making me feel like this thing matters.
This month, The Parasites turns 5 years old. The project’s been through a lot — and so have I, along with it. I’m building this game on my own, but without your support, it would’ve looked very different. Your feedback, ideas, financial help, and just your attention — all of it helps me keep going.
There’s still a lot of work ahead. But I believe, with your support, I’ll get it done. ❤️

Updates
Character getting wet has been updated
Now when wet or cold, the nipples will swell
Added some crafting items to crafting table
Additional hints in some craft menus
Updated visuals for some craft menus
Updated the smelter, added sounds, corresponding particles and idle animation for slaves (now they only work when needed)
Updated dynamo machine, idle animation for slaves (now they work only when needed)
Added new building: shower
Updated interaction with sawmill (+animations)
Added display of interaction direction to some buildings
Totem menu updated: now you can read the description of the learned abilities / displays the number of available level increases
Added 4 invalid icons
Time of shortage, now randomly spawned items in the world will be randomly damaged, and not as before with 100% chance of durability and number of pills
Added hints/obtaining/losing an item
The project build weight has been reduced by ~ 9 GB
Added the ability to stack pills
Slaves now display life that can be replenished
Before, only one runner would attack you if you disturbed it during prayer. Now, all nearby will join the attack
Now the vagina gets wet separately
Added rock climbing (for now as a concept, in the future places for climbing to the level and caves will be designed / added)

for now it's just a prop, you can't interact with it and it can't do anything except chase you

Now you can disable the cheat menu in the game settings (important: disabled by default)

When canceling a building, sometimes it wasn't canceled right away, I had to click "100" times
Tips for building may remain when you exit after building a spline
Soap effect in the player area when entering photo mode
The durability of weapons was not displayed correctly in the menu of nearby items
Arrow duplication
It was impossible to build a wolf farm without cheating
Fixed some clothes that were clipping
A flickering fire in the distance
The robot takes one log at a time only
The tannery table at save lode was loaded as already created but was still in loading state
Smitty after save loading, loaded a component that was not added
After save loading the tannery did not display the hung skin
It was impossible to create items in the anvil
Coal bar in smitty was not displayed correctly when adding at full percentage
While falling into the rag doll, the mask that was wearing was shaking
helmet did not change hair for default hair aana
The helmet did not change hair if Anna's default hair was selected
if you put a weapon in a belt and save it it will break and stay on you forever
Did not show the durability of the weapon on the belt
it was possible to climb into the garden bed
Sometimes in the rag doll, when you tried to stand up, the roll would turn on (which prevented you from standing up)
The sawmill was not working
Visual bug of light when there was pot on the fire
If the horse dies, the saddle and reins will disappear
The menu for interacting with the horse did not work, it was impossible to feed/water and heal the horse
The slave mark has no description in totem menu
Strong immunity at maximum level the Anna always has a cold
Stone Skin at maximum level the Anna stops receiving damage
When radiation is removed at its maximum level, radiation is produced in the body that cannot be removed
Absorption at max level you don't get essence for killing parasites
The titanium back at maximum level weighs zero
Strong bones at the maximum level of the bone break more often or two fractures at the same time
Oak Skin at max level increases the chance of bleeding
Health regeneration at maximum level stops working (health restoration becomes impossible)
Some items had incorrect orientation at the sockets
If you go into photo mode and turn on the free camera in a rag doll, then when you exit photo mode you will remain in a rag doll forever
Hands broke when changing weapons if they were holding a combat hammer
The highlight ability in the totem was not working properly
Wild fps drops during lightning when you open your watch or notepad
When save\load, objects that were built on the platform could remain suspended in the air when they were removed
If the object with wires was removed when the floor was removed, the wires would continue to hang in the air
After saving/loading, the character could sometimes fall through the floor or get stuck in buildings
Saved key bindings not working after game restart
Some clothes did not give scraps when cut
Fixed animation of cutting/ taking pills / quick fix for animation at the campfire / default animations...
The screen blurs with a large field of view (this should not happen now)
Cut animation could work in the backpack
Sometimes runners could continue to reproduce the pain sounds that were caused before the head was blown
The injured horse was not preserved
Anna said that it was the wrong antidote, most likely it was a mistake in the hint, because she could say this even if you were already cured and took the antidote
Raw meat in the fire did not rot
Disabled masks durability/blood for materials that don't have them (so that things don't disappear)
Some problematic places on the map, invisible collision
Sometimes regeneration might not activate on its own
If you use the sit by the fire pose in a squat, Anya would fall through the floor for a couple of seconds
Sometimes the poison indicator remains (visually in stats)
Sometimes, status under the pills, might not be displayed either
Sometimes the indicator does not show that the disease
Spawn parasites rewritten (sometimes spawned incorrect amount in static positions)
Spawn static area parasites rewritten (sometimes spawned incorrect amount)
Can't build in houses
Some objects did not have material
If you put a bandage in a horse, nothing would happen
The slaves made breathing sounds
It was impossible to catch fish in the ponds
The silencer that spawns in weapon crates could not be used on any weapon
Radiation could remain in the green zone forever until you remove it yourself, which is why regeneration could not be active
In certain cases, radiation zones may not have been activated and may have become permanently active
The kiosk had an incorrect collision, which made it impossible to get into it and loot it
The tattoo with a reference to attack on titan was soapy
at stops, in open suitcases, loot was rejected, it did not appear in the loot menu nearby
if you are injured when you can't activate the pose by the fire
Sometimes you had to do a 2nd click after using the sliders in customization

for mega i restarted my computer and restored tabs for the browser to make it keep downloading had to do it like 3 times but it worked

LJ, go to mega page install a vpn and start downloading the file, when it stops, set your vpn in another location and the download will resume. worked like a charm!

First thing first, Thanks for the update. You did a lot. I have to say though, there's a lot of problems with save files. If you save on other slot then slot 1, the game bugs out, you get a normal character, not the one that you created, with 0 skills and 0 entities, in the same place where you saved YOUR character progress. So even though having multiple save slots is great, it seems it's not working properly for now (at least for me) Also, why did you take off the falling mechanics? Update: Found something that works to fix that: Folder save_1 is your main save. If you'll save on another slot it WILL bug out and show new amount of saves. If you load this one again you'll get a BASIC character with 0 skills and entities. What you should do: Quit game. Go to the save folder in the AppData folder. You'll see 2 folders: Savegame_1 and Savegame_2. Go into the first one and copy the file called MyCustomSaveGame.sav to the 2nd folder. Now load into the game and load save 2. You should be where you saved and with the correct character. Hope that helps and hoping soon we will not have to do this

Hola tengo un problema soy nuevo y solo tengo esta versión pero lo descargo y tengo un archivo corrupto y ya lo e bajado tres veces y siempre el mismo error que es el archivo en la carpeta Parks nombre del archivo The Parasites-Windows.pak lo extraigo solo y igual sale error

I really appreciate the time and effort that you’re putting into updating this Title, It’s not often that I enjoy playing a Game although I am partial to a bit of GTA, Before that it was Descent, ROTT, Unreal Tournament, Doom etc, Regarding the Map, Would it not be possible to add GPS into it because it’s not worth even looking at at the moment, Well for me anyway, It’s a minor gripe but doesn’t affect the Gameplay that much but would be nice to have! 🙂

My recommendation is you make a weekly post telling us what you are currently working on BUT do not set deadlines for yourself or give an ETA for when you expect the update to be ready. For solo devs and small dev teams deadlines/ETAs for updates are nightmares. I've yet to see a solo dev/small dev team, keep deadlines or are always pushing back an update ETA

Thank you for the new update! I think it's no big deal to say, next update will be ready on a certain time frame. If things are different, a simple "I realized that these things takes much longer than expected and it will be delayed for several months" is nothing that anybody will be mad about. There is no pressure on you.
