Billing paused + more
🕑 Added 2025-09-06 19:21:19 +0000 UTCHey, everyone. I'm sure you guys probably noticed with the increasingly missed deadlines, but my motivation for this story is kinda gone. I've been considering dropping the story since all the way back around chapter 45 or so, but kept pressing forward instead, hoping it would get better. I've had some flashes of inspiration, but most of the time, I just dread writing this story and chapters take forever to get out. I paused billing for now to relieve the feeling of guilt, but I will say that I am going to end this story after the tournament arc. I will try to wrap it up with a mostly satisfying conclusion, but I don't think I can press on beyond that.
As for why I feel this way? A couple reasons, but mainly it's that the story no longer aligns with my original vision. I had a lot of things that I wanted to do, and very few of them panned out. I am a pantser, but I've been writing long enough that I can generally see where things are going and prepare for it. Or so I thought. Apparently I overestimated myself.
Anyway, the main point though is that I'm going to wrap up this tournament arc without any deadlines, and then post it all at once. Until then, billing will be paused. I'll wrap up the story then, and try to give Bella's character arc a satisfying bow on top. I won't spoil further than that, but I know how it's going to go. Once the story is over, I'm just going to delete the main tier to keep anyone from continuing to be billed. I won't unpublish the page because then I lose the grandfathered Patreon deal, and I might want that if I come back to this pen name, but I don't want anyone lingering for too long after forgetting to unsub. My goal is to keep anyone from being charged again for this story.
I'm sorry to everyone who hoped this story would go on longer. I originally fully intended on having this series go the distance. I just screwed up big time and don't have the motivation to keep it going. I may make a post with more details once it's over, but for now, it's gonna be radio silence from me until I get this final arc done.

I typically abhor cultivation stories, but this story bridged the gap for me really well, and I enjoyed the story a lot. I wish you the best, and I hope you share more about your original vision for the story.
