I don't like Floch, but his participation is integral. The people who were on the other side of the wall absolutely deserve to have someone arguing on their behalf as part of this decision, Eren and friends aren't the only people fighting and sacrificing. Floch quite literally went on a suicide charge, knowingly, and when he tells Mikasa 'No, I will not shut up' - you're meant to think he is correct because why the fuck should he be disrespected given what he just did? Not only engaging in the suicide charge but literally finding the Commander of the scouts on the battlefield and carrying him back to where he could have been saved.

As much as a lot of people don’t like Floch, he does bring an interesting new perspective that no one else does. We’re all incredibly biased in favour of what Eren and the gang because they’re our main characters and we’ve been on adventures with them and got to know them. Where as Flock doesn’t have that biased, he sees them more objectively because he doesn’t know them, he’s not their friend so he sees them as people sacrificing the lives of people they don’t know and endangering all of humanity for their own person goals, like keeping one friend alive (which when thought about objectively is quite selfish). So Floch acts as a foil to us, the audience who are very biased in favour of the main characters. Where as he has a more objective view of them.

I actually liked Floch in S3. He was a coward but at least he was honest and truthful to himself and I think his points about Erwin held true. But in S4 yeah I hate Floch.

Why do all reactors always hate Floch and want him dead, he did his best to save Erwin because he believed he was the best chance for humanity to survive, he said that a devil like Erwin is needed in order to defeat the enemy, guy in the middle is normally so smart but not this time, was really dumb saying he should die when he didn’t do or say anything wrong.
