Rank 1 - F95Zone - 68%
Rank 2 - itch.io - 16 %
Rank 3 - Renderosity, SVScomics, Reddit - ca. 3% each
Massively surprising for me, that F95 dominates the field by far.
F95 for obvious reasons do not give out access statistics, but considering that there are
- roughly 15k views and 3k downloads on itch.io
- 10k+ downloads on SVS comics
- 15k+ views on reddit
the result is still a surprise to me, meaning that the user base of F95 must be the highest by far (the game post has around 120k views there)
If you can think of any other channel you frequent, that might be suitable for promotion, let me know, as it will help making the game better known.
More patrons means, that I can also up the quality of this and the next game and get some help for the areas my skills are not good.
Reflecting on that, I admit to grossly neglecting the marketing rule of thumb so far ("...put 10% to 20% of your effort in promotion...").
I used less than 5% of my time for that, due to lazyness and a general dislike of sales and marketing activities (I'd rather code the 25th mob type and A.I... ;) )
I will spend a bit more time on promotion (means more goodies here too...).

On the subject of itch.io, if "Show content marked as adult in search & browse" isn't active in a user's settings, your game won't show up. I'd always followed direct links from developers to their respective itch.io pages, so I didn't realize until last year the above setting being inactive was why I could never find developers I knew had pages but never could find.

That’s a good suggestion. Probably time to push V0.5 to F95Zone (they are still on V0.4.1) and get some exposure on latest Updates.

Maybe it would be different for an already strongly established artist, but content from new creators gets more awareness on F95's Latest Updates than anywhere else. It's probably good practice to release new updates frequently and stay up on there often.

I think itch.io is a good platform but games advertising disappears very quickly. Maybe, if you pay, could be more vissibility on those site, I don’t know if exist such option. If this happens, please tell us.

For sites like SVS etc. no doubt. I was just surprised that itch.io as presumably largest indie site on the planet was so far off. Either I need more visibility there or the NSFW crowd is much bigger at F95zone.

why is it surprising ? f95 got good DL sources ( mega, workload etc ) and community where things and such a re shared and is always secure. other sites got viruses and nearly no community and the download mirrors suck too . in my opinion it was obvious ;)
