Devlog - 27th April - Future Direction
🕑 Added 2025-04-27 06:26:08 +0000 UTCHi,
while collecting feedback on the Early Access Version I have been sorting through the open feature list and thought about which items to implement before conclusion of SJX I.
High on the list are
base extension for some harem view (maybe sauna...)
interactions between Trixie and Seraphine
more insights on the Zealot and Slaver locations
filling in NSFW content thats currently only available for some characters
as well as a number of tecnical changes I want to do because I am unhappy with the code
subsystem design refactoring (allowing for unique, special addons and subunits)
dialogue system refactoring ( to get rid of error prone nested code loops)
and others...
This will probably be a 2.2 version and after that the final "SJX Gold" edition :)
Still mulling a few things over and also have not reviewed all features in the wish list I collected though...
Let me know if you would look forward to me rounding off SJX or whether its enough in your book and you want something else altogether.
The Poll last year came out in favor of SJX II, which was one reason for adding bit more to SJX I since then, so part of it is probably already adressed...

I kind of agree that you can't expand on this game forever. The basic idea of the game is great but the side quests are slowly but surely overwhelming the main quest line. I like them all but one can progressively feel that the original story wasn't planned for an epic space opera. On the other hand I love the cast and what they are doing so I can't get enough of them. Perhaps the decision would be easier if your new game would include some of the old cast. And some way to resolve a few of the open ends. Just what you mentioned earlier. Or perhaps you could rework the main story to make it bigger? This would be much more difficult, right? Now I know it's not easy to come up with a decent idea. But after playing both of your games for a while I'm pretty sure you can come up with an even better one.

I would recommend aiming for an end to SJX development (except bug fixes) for end of 2025. At some point it will become too large and another game will be better for everybody involved. Just my intuition here though, obviously I might be wrong.

Sorry if you already addressed this and I missed it, but are we ever going to get access to the armory?
