Sometimes I feel like I don't truly have any place to call home online(not an issue, it's the internet, come on) BECAUSE of specifically what they're all talking about with the sort of backlash QT got for having in my opinion a pretty normal, compassionate take. Because I'm a trans person I am automatically EXPECTED(online, not really in real life, so I don't care too much) to be a certain way, to have specific opinions, to whatever. But because I'm mot what I "should" be(i e. what a bunch of control freaks online want me to be) and because I have more compassion for people who don't share my opinions(I don't always agree with people, I think that's pretty normal, and it would be insane to expect people to have 100% agreement) I am sort of disowned by that group of people. On the flipside BECAUSE I'm a trans woman who has gone through surgeries, I am seen by a lot of other people as a freak, against their beliefs, or whatever other opinions, as a problem to be avoided. In the end of the day the only people who truly matter are the ones you can go have a beer with even though you can say in the same breath "I love you, but you're wrong and you're a moron." If you can't share a beer with each other, what even is all this life for, really?

The ketchup made some excellent points about streaming and why it's probably not going to last. The 25+ yo audience seems pretty burnt out on all the make believe and most of the kids are on other platforms. Twitch is cooked if they don't either try to compete or go back to being gaming-first.

Nick was on FIRE this episode. I genuinely think, among the other reasons, one of catalysts for the Faze guys and the AMP guys being so popular now is because their fans like them. The "poggers" streamers are in this endless cycle of drama and he said she said because for YEARS the primary place their communities existed was LSF, a toxic shithole that hates them. I genuinely think that if LSF had just been left to rot, if streamers hadn't constantly been using it and talking about it, things would look a lot different. Nick's right, these communities are going to cannibalize themselves. Also I can confirm that Soda is right, he's been my go to for years because he's hilarious. If a new game comes out and a lot of people are playing it, I'm watching Soda's playthrough first because I know it'll make me laugh.
