Dev update #80

It's been a while, so it's update time! And it's a long one! I'm still suffering through designing and coding of ren'py UI. I've made some progress. I'd say 2/3 of that part is already complete. The final 1/3 gets a little bit tricky as it requires from me a ton of extra planning - it means all the extra screens outside of the basic UI, so outside save menu, load menu, settings and so on. Now I'm switching my attention to all the extra screens like phone, extra activities and all of that requires planning ahead. Fortunately, I have a fair bit of the story set up, so it's easier to see where things are going and what 'extra' things would make the gameplay more interesting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not making a sandbox game! I feel like this would've killed the entire project. I don't think it's possible, at least for me, to make a sandbox game all by myself.
All those extra activities will be skippable, but (that's not confirmed yet), you may miss a special sex scene or additional poses / animations in a sex scene or maybe miss an interaction with specific (potentially favorite) character or simply you'd miss a special render. Nothing that would stop you from progressing the game, no need to worry about that.
What else I've been up to? Mostly writing - I'm pretty happy with what I already wrote. Plot points, things that need to happen to get us to that plot point, character arcs involved, and I started to think about fetishes. What to include and what to leave behind.
After months of thinking I finally made a decision. The future game will not include any NTR, sharing nor swinging, nor any other NTR related fetish. Maybe a fetish where you get to have an affair with someone's wife, but not the other way around.
What's the reasoning? Making the sharing route avoidable in Deliverance was probably the biggest mistake I've made. For several reasons. After completing the game, sharing route takes about ~10% of the entirety, so not enough for people interested only in that particular fetish. And enough for people who hate it to never check out the game. So you either go all the way with NTR-related fetish - meaning making a game that revolves only around the main couple and their adventures, or you don't involve that fetish at all. While making a game focused only on a couple could be interesting, I feel like it would've been too limiting for me. I'd like to push my render and animation quality to the top - and not only in sex scenes, challenge myself with new, interesting ideas like action scenes, chases, heists, and I feel like making a game about a couple would simply be too limiting. Not to mention, that kind of game is usually character based and not plot based, so definitely not for me. I wouldn't be enjoying myself creating that kind of game.
I understand this is the moment that will make a lot of people angry / sad, but I had to let you know as early as possible without making an irrational decision. I also understand this means goodbye to many of you. It's painful, but I thought about it for a very long time and, unfortunately, this is my final decision. I would not be enjoying myself and I have to to dedicate another couple of years to a project.
Also, I'll try to post at least one more character reveal this month. And more in the coming months. Please forget about the one I already sent, I'll make a new and much more eye catching one!

There's some very interesting scenes looking over all the previous development posts, for example several in the office, one where Kat's giving Magnus a blowie (maybe a DE could incorporate this as a interview to get her job back ;-), there's so much scope; Giselle is massively underused could be competition for KAT (the evil minion that looks more appealing than a cheating wife ?), tempting MC to go bad ?, Magnus 2, Trevor SPa2, Sondhiem never fucks and abuses MC's wife (despite the history) and yet there's shots of her Blowing him, the coffeee shop blowie that never was (the BIGGEST shortcoming), spitting on the mayor (should've been a blowie at least, the alley stranger (gone the whole way) , Trevor and Magnus tag teaming Kat, both doing anal and coming inside her, the beach share (just a flash, I'd have liked to see a man of colour give her the full works in the sea), Pearl, Dahlia and Kat getting it on, Rebekah and Kat getting it on, there is literally so much that could be done without a single new character( (other than changing the sea guy's colour). But if the Developer's not interested, the new AVN does'nt do as well and Patreons leave etc it ain't ever going to happen. Deliverence will encourage more developers to incorporate NTR etc and titles like Operation Lovercraft will really put the cat among the pigeons.

Yeah we're on the same page Monk, I'd be camp-out-overnight levels of excited for a Deliverance DE. Hell, I think even a few photo set .zips uploaded here along with a rough scene outline would be great. The DAZ assets for all the characters we know and love are in a directory somewhere, and can still get a lot of mileage without needing to incorporate scenes into a full game. She could even become one of the 1Thousand "spokespeople" (since being a Mayor was too stressful) and she gives us project updates while in the middle of... other business! I know that the time required to set and render scenes can be insane so it may be a long shot, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed Kat and crew make a return at some time, in some way, in the future!
