You know what would be a somewhat funny and wholesome subversion? People are predicting that Nao and Arashi will sing stand by me, and Souta will cry remembering that it’s their song, but I feel like believably Nao wouldn’t do that given the baggage that song has. I want one where Souta walks in and Arashi is saying they should play “stand by me” and Souta is heartbroken but then Nao and Arashi start whispering to each other and Arashi gets kind of mad and then she reluctantly announces a different song. Souta is briefly a bit upset about Nao gatekeeping the song after rejecting him, but he also finds it achingly romantic that Nao also considers it “their song” and then he remembers all the little bits that made it seem like Nao returns his feelings, and this is how he realizes that Nao definitely does like him.

I think speaking to our GOAT Inoue, he has realised he hasn't actually said everything he wants to say and has words that he wants to make clear that have been left unspoken. He's taking control and doing this for himself and that's why I'm super pumped for it. It's such a huge arc for his character development to be running to Nao to be decisive and assertive. We know it ends well, but if it didn't he could feel that closure and feel proud of himself that he stood in his truth with nothing left unspoken. You got this Souta!

With those lines on the road it often means that pedestrians have right of way if they are walking on them, but I've never been to Japan so I have no idea of the rules of the road regarding pedestrians. okay, i'm actually down for this since his reasoning is to have some sort of closure (even when we know it's gonna go a different way). i was afraid of souta running after nao but i like what he's thinking. like... give the guy the chance to get it out of his chest once and for all. he's allowed to be a little selfish after all he's been suppressing for the sake of their friendship. let's go souta, go get the man to finally speak!! Minor changes over the years as Aina has developed as an artist (auras sweater more detailed, naos piercings, jacket is longer) but Souta’s wearing the sweater, vest, jeans, and sneakers combo and Nao is wearing his timberlanes and long coat. So as we know cold hands, aina put down in a caption somewhere that Souta had been running for a while. So, I’m thinking they’re both doing the chase (I doubt Aina let our boy Nao stay stationary after last chapters mind blow to him), for some reason Nao isn’t going to be chasing as long as Souta tho (because he isn’t cold). Souta’s undereyes resemble how aina draws characters after they cry in cold hands too, so I am wondering if Nao finds Souta when he’s broken down somewhere.
