Herculean Cypress (Final)
🕑 Added 2022-01-14 09:55:04 +0000 UTCFinally Done!! Wooo! To be honest, I'm not completely satisfied with the final result, but I learned loads of things while working on this piece, especially on how to draw friggin' knees somewhat properly xD (That forward one was the most difficult part of this entire drawing lol) Either way, I hope you guys like the final result! ;)
Also, just wanted to say thank you guys for being so patient with this one. I kind of wanted to take my time on it to try and get the details right. However, since it's a bit late at the moment, I'll have the time-lapse (both long and short) up sometime tomorrow.
All the best!

Who's the photographer? I would like to hire them. But really, this is so impressively done. As if Cypress wasn't already a sight to behold π

I like how the hair and fur tufts came out, reminds me of the hair of Michelangelo's David. I'd imagine you wouldn't find too much "messy" fur like that in classical sculptures (only example I can think of would be if someone sculpted a satyr). Excellent work!

Certainly a build that qualifies as both herculean and statuesque! Super impressive stuff c:

I'm glad you ended up doing this piece in stone! This turned out fantastic! Also were the cloths a last minute addition or were they always planned? Nevermind you last post answered that question.

This came out incredible Taran, it really showcases your understanding of form and itβs interactions with light. And donβt worry, not being satisfied is a sign of growth and learning. Youβre doing a great job πͺπ½π

Now it's clear what you meant by "close to finishing". I don't even have the words. Unbelievably.

It looks fantastic! You're tremendously skilled when it comes to forms and values. Everything looks so beautifully tangible. As an artist myself I'm curious, what aspects of the piece are you dissatisfied with? What would you do differently if you were to do it again?

Most impressive! Great job!
