Silas Figures & Cypress Sketches

To start, since the poll from last month showed that over 50% of you guys wanted to see Silas first before moving on to the new Roster of character, I have begun on the minty boyo. Four poses for this one 😌 Also, I'll be putting out the new poll for the next characters soon enough, so stay tuned for that! 👍
Also, I had some more ideas related to the Cypress shower scene thing. Once again, just some idea exploration and pose practice, but I hope you guys like them!
I'm gonna start painting the first two Minovember sketches starting tomorrow, and I'll keep you guys updated with those as I work through them (if they aren't completed really quickly 😂)

Hey thanks for the question! So the interesting thing is that the proportions I’ve arrived at were mostly through trial and error, however by coincidence or intuition I ended up arriving at basically those proportions or at least very similar ones 😂 So if you wanted to use Loomis’s heroic proportions, I’d say they are a very good reference point 👍

Quick art question, are you using Andrew Loomis's greek heroic proportions as a reference for your characters?

Hey thanks Asher! I would say some of the bigger things would be to keep your lines of action in mind and have those as the main influence for the pose. Have your gestures fairly loose initially, with lots of curved strokes (C and S shapes) and then build the forms on top of those, making adjustments when needed. Also as always, use references when needed 😊👍
