Cypress Golden Leaves?
🕑 Added 2024-09-01 06:23:09 +0000 UTCHey guys, so for the last two day, I've been working on that other piece "Cypress Golden Leaves", and I thought that I had been getting somewhere with it. Unfortunately, the more I worked on it, the more I noticed I was getting further and further away for the original idea. As a consequence, I liked it less and less. (the piece could also just be cursed lol). But anyway, having drawn a LOT in my life, the sad truth is that this just happens sometimes. You fail at a piece, and you either move on to another idea, or you try again. So I started from scratch just to see what came to mind. Honestly, I'm still not completely sold on this sketch either, but it's an idea nonetheless.
I've also included the stages where I stopped it for the last two days. Now, this isn't to say that these pieces are bad, or that I hate them. On the contrary. This is all just another learning moment, and sometimes, when you're just fighting with a piece too much, (and this is after taking breaks, and working on other stuff too) it can be good to just let it go, and try something else.
But yeah, hope you guys aren't too upset with me stopping that WIP, and just leaving the original as is (at least for now π )
In the meantime, I'm gonna let this idea sit for a bit in the background, and move on to other stuff, like the Bront figures, and Cypress's clothing.
Also, I'll be opening for prompt suggestions tomorrow for this years Weretober! πΊπβ¨ So have those ready! I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys want to see! ππ¦

Thanks Eth! Iβm good though. Like I said, this happens sometimes π I think the main issue with the original was the anatomy and pose, so I tried re working it a bit here, and modifying the background a bit as well, but it was just a lot of struggling, especially with getting the proper angle for the lighting. Best thing to do is just leave it for a bit, and come back later with a fresh mind π

Theyre all great as-is, and I definitely have a piece or two where I've felt like it's strayed too far from what I wanted in the first place so I get what you're going through! Thanks for sharing what you have, and looking forward to Were- (and Orc-) tober! π
