Was the first core that Kade got a paragon core ? That people just see it as a portal with two bosses without realizing the significance. Also this whole arc is starting to have a bit too much plot armor for me. Power is everything it seems but none of the powerful people are really doing anything about Kade. A person just walks out of an S rank portal and everyone is just like okay ? The whole Jess thing is also a bit unrealistic in my opinion, so a 15 year old can be taught by people on the internet to hack the GC’s system, shouldn’t those people have already hacked these systems? It would have made more sense if she found the information on their version of the dark web than her doing it herself.

We have not even had a description of what changed about Cheddar. He was summoned in this chapter but here and previously it was never mentioned how Cheddar changed with the rank up.

Feels really convenient to me how much the GC let's Jessie run wild... She's a part time employee who should by all accounts still be in her training period, and a minor to boot. Yet she has the ability to just sign the team up for portals at a moment's notice. Not to mention that due to the family connection to Kade, her touching anything related to him should count as a major conflict of interest - as it is actually shown in the story. And given Kade's exit from that S rank portal - as perceived by everyone else - he should have been flagged in the GC system by everyone ever since. The GC, the guilds, any enthusiastic hackers. I mean, the system is soft enough that a high schooler can get in without any problems and just a bit of help from the online hacker community, so everyone is in there. And speaking of, given the paragon protocols, the GC should have an early scouting system in place for any and all portals that flag them for the metallic color difference. If such a system is in place, then any portal that qualifies should immediately become off limits for normal teams and even GC reps below the requisite access level. Just think it through, if these were left available to anyone, then you would be getting both major casualties and rumours of paragons all over the place, just from the survivors that managed to flee (see the reference to none of these being trap portals). And good luck getting the survivors to shut up... They just came out of some portal where the boss was an anomaly, and here's the GC trying to get them to sign an NDA? On what grounds? After getting their friends killed just because they dropped the ball and let a non-selected team wander in? I bet most anyone in that situation would be signing those papers with FU in all capitals. And there is no legal way for the GC to force them to secrecy. And if they start disappearing these people? Now that's a whole other can of worms that no reasonable governing body would want to open... As such, this whole plan of them just rushing for paragon portals feels extremely unplausible. Edit: finished the chapter. The last segment of them catching Jessie is somewhat redeeming of the situation, but my general point still stands. A paragon portal was left basically unattended by the GC. Should not have been possible. Edit2: And I forgot to mention how conveniently lucky it was for them to find a C rank paragon portal as soon as they started looking for one. Just blocks away from them. And look, wind laws - just perfect to complement Kade's storm... Sorry, but this just looks like they are being spoon fed exactly the right kind of opponents and challenge that they need.
