from what I have gathered "good luck Charlie" is Gracie talking about and to the ex (Charlie) of her best friend Audrey Hobert. also it made me think of how Taylor has the song "dear John" and couldn't get sued because "dear John" is a movie and also "dear John letter's" are a thing... idk if this Charlie guy would've been able to sue but if he tried he wouldn't have succeeded because Gracie took a page out of Taylor's book and "good luck Charlie" is the name of a show, so she's set 😂

So when she switches over in I knew it, I know you, she’s saying she’d gladly give him the closure, her reasons if he’d just calm down. If he wanted to talk calmly to her she’d drop everything to meet him and explain herself.. she touches on the importance of explanations in the next song, “would it kill you to explain?”. She’s not sorry, but she’d explain..and it’s not her fault he won’t talk to her or process, he can’t sit with hard this, plays noise in his empty house to drown it out.

I think it’s good for men to see the impacts of relationships for women. Of course men experience heartbreak but men also treat women like commodities to make them look cool or desired, it’s important to see the other side of that. Not that these guys treat girls poorly, I have no way of knowing that, but the experience of young women is so underrepresented, exposure to the pain we feel can only help.

Might be bc I was a neuroscience major but when she says our love is chemical I think she is referring to dopamine and serotonin, the 'happy' chemicals in our brains. Scientists have proven that tumultuous relationships can be addicting (like a drug addiction) because you are chasing the happy chemicals you get when your partner is happy with you and super depressed when their mad (because you aren't getting any of those happy chemicals). And I think the bartender thought the ex was dead bc he saw the picture in the wallet when he checked for ID, and just the thought of her being dead hit him like a nightmare scenario? They definitely wrote and worked on Us, Track 5 together. If you go to Gracies IG she posted little videos of them coming up with the bridge, they were at Taylor's drinking and a small fire started at Taylor's place and she recorded it too lol
