I have something I'd like to ask the people who have subscribed to my Patreon.
🕑 Added 2025-06-03 07:35:03 +0000 UTCBefore I wrote Afterlife 2.0 I had another novel that was basically my baby. But I ended up throwing it away after a poor review from a single beta reader.
Lately I've been thinking back to that novel and kind of want to rewrite it from the ground up.
Just want to see what people want though before I commit to anything.
Would you be interested in me investing time in writing a new novel or do you want me to stick with Afterlife 2.0?
Basically, the pitch for the other one is that it's a serial transmigration story, the main character is contracted after death into an organization that hops between dimensions, protecting them from exploitative groups and world-devouring threats.

Regardless of what happens, I'll continue writing Afterlife 2.0, as it's my first success. It will never be on hiatus until it's done. I just want to know what my audience thinks I should focus on as my primary goal.

Royal road can be pretty ruthless with reviews. One reader who doesn’t like it and bam! Novel gets buried.

You're very sweet and I appreciate the sentiment. But I have a few reasons I'm doing this alongside the fact this is more of a "what would you like me to have as my main focus" because I'm going to do both anyway. I just kind of wanted to hear from people their opinion on if they're cool with a slightly slower release schedule. Because my readerbase matters to me. Even if it doesn't have to be that way I kind of like doing things that make other people happy. That is what would give me the kind of motivation to write the best work I can. Side note I also saw you being kind to LoveMoney (The Art of Gold Digging author) giving them a similar kind of sentiment but relating to beta readers so I know you probably just want what's best for the authors you read. But fulfilling what other people want is kind of what feels best for me. When I said my audience meant the world to me in after-chapter notes I was kind of being serious. Like just thinking about the fact that so many people are enjoying something I made gives me that 'excited and ready to go do stuff' mixed with a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Interaction from said audience even more so. I may have kind of gone on a rant here but thanks anyways but I think this is the best way to do things for me personally.

Ah I don't like this - it's your writing, you should decide yourself. The main draw I see for writing multiple novels is it helps with writers block, the trade off is of course slower releases. Though it's hard to comment on that as you don't have a release schedule. If you're really not sure, you can post a few chapters to get initial feedback.
