Soooo stuff, things are happening and I don't like it one bit |3;;;. You must have heard what happened to certain artist making a comic series involving some big property. I don't want to use names in case they can track other artists by the use of their names on some sort of algorythm or whatever :v, but stuff.
Basically an artist made comics with the electric rodent property (P) and the big "N" company filed a DMCA against him...and apparently has been going around stricking others using the P brand in literature and art here in Patreon.
I'm afraid I could be struck too if I do make my latest announced P comic, so I decided to pull out and make something else instead, just to avoid anything. Though that depends on what you guys think.
If you think I should still do it, I could go ahead and try to "circumvent the system" and try to see if I can get away with it. Otherwise I do think it's safer to do something else instead. But I also don't want to dissapoint you guys, without your support I wouldn't be here doing art for a living D:.
If I do not do the P comic, then it'll take a little longer to get the next comic going. I got some ideas already but this is a setback x3;;;.
So if you guys don't mind the wait and prefer me going safe, then yeah.
Tell me what you think, because I am really not sure on what to do on this matter for sure.

Yeah x3;;. I am gonna be making some moves here and there to avoid my work to be hindered further. Like not mentioning P by its full name, lol. everything I can do to avoid the hammer is good =w=;;;; Also the next comic is already pretty much set to stone, so things should be looking up for me super soon <3, thank you for the energy~

Yeah, sadly that still has the same problem than posting just the title card without saying what it is. Like people will still be able to track/gather that I'm making a P comic if they find it posted anywhere else and it has ties to my patreon XD. I'll totally make it someday, but maybe once things have calmed down or once I have more patreon support <3

You could always make a patreon discord, and just let people know when new stuff is posted there. I'd like to see the new comic you've been working on, but if you aren't comfortable I totally understand.

Yeeeah, I was wondering on how they were found out, considering that I thought that being a NSFW creator meant you wouldn't appear in search results D: Honestly I never tag my stuff (Specially since tags here are so lame, like 3 tags for a submission? wtf XD), so I kinda felt like I'd be safe to still go ahead. But just thinking about being found out and being held my patreon randsom until I take everything P out (Like Kuro went through) makes me afraid |3;;; I was actually thinking on posting just thumbnails with the title of the comic and then giving a dropbox link to the comic, and then later post the comic on FA/e621/IB. But then it struck me that the people working for the big N can hire people to do e621 searches or whatnot and if they find my comic and then backengineer the search until they get here, then they'll strike me, even if late to the party :v. I think I'm screwed either ways if I post it here. I'm thinking on making the comic anyways in the future (Out of patreon), but at least once I'm more settled with a liveable wage from Patron support x3;;;, haha

Well, I think it all comes down to how you want to play around the situation. Truth is, nintendo is certainly scanning shit to take some creators down, but the one thing they all have in common is that they're very well known, they're using very liked characters, and that are very public on social media, as in, posting links to their patreons on twitter and the like. You can either use a 3rd party to post your content and just link it on patreon, or you can just post shit as normal and avoid tags, names and the like (I'd also recommend swipping out all tags regarding nintendo for extra safety). They've confirmed that they do NOT check the actual content and go for basic namedrops (as seen by Horse getting one of the DMCA's on an animation that had nothing to do with pokemon but the commissioner's name, which had glaceon in it). I think all we gotta do for the time being is be smart about the situation, and not let it get to us.
