I don't think it realized how bad off the bird monster would be. And it has more than one monster per expansion as it had the turtle and salamander.

The way the hunger works makes me more excited every time. I'm guessing that with every expansion, it gets a slot that it can fill with one of its custom monsters, but after that it can't affect what the invasion roll is, otherwise it wouldn't have bothered with the bird monster at all.

Thanks for the chapter. "In fact, even the two more lightly wounded lancers had recovered enough to join the formation." That should probably be "even the two more heavily wounded".

Loved the chapter, thank for writing it. This purification was a poor showing by the hunger, I imagine we won't get suck large birds in the future. We might have to deal with a flock of the smaller kind tho. Realistically if we have the lancers aimed at the tunnel exit we could probably kill most shades as they're emerging from the tunnels. Thx for the reminder about your vacation. Hope you have fun doing whatever you're doing. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with once you're back.
