Then it gives sacrifice and death no meaning, and to be bee like is the accept sacrifice.

Darius Sanguna

at this point why not make them into proper undead instead of this round about way of calling on their souls to buff your spells a bit? If they come back willingly either way ethics are no problem whatsoever.

Durphymcbob

I'm not saying it's not necromancy, but I'd say it's closer to magical "ancestor" worship, so probably more eithical.

Emma Baker

Fairy bees are a thing, right? They’re like specialist bees or something.

Darius Sanguna

Calling on the souls of the dead is literally necromancy, which is pretty much the opposite of naturalist shamanism as pulling souls back across the veil is pretty much the most unnatural thing that one can do. The spirits you mean are something different entirely and have nothing to do with the souls of the dead. Also if no souls are involved in your corpse raising magic, then it isn't necromancy, but offshoots of golemancy sprinkled with the more disgusting parts of biomancy like flesh and bone sculpting, possibly with some blood magic involved. Rule of thumb: Undeath = Souls with dead/non-functional/no longer existing bodies Unlife = Living bodies with no soul Also anything using the souls of beings that previously lived on your world/in your universe and then died is by default necromancy. The only exception is divinely facilitated reincarnation.

Thanks for the chapter, loved it. Belissar has expanded his spells. Nice. Now to practice. Can he cast two different swarms at the same time. Can he get the swarm to multitask successfully, how far can the swarm travel from him. Can he combine Mana swarms, a burning maddening swarm would be particularly effective. Can his swarm dance like beero and her battlecasters? Are the lightning Mana bees faster than the others? So many questions. Lmao Toivenaq is our blacksmith, awesome. Sounds like a hard worker to me. Can't wait till he gets good enough to try folding Mana honey into the metals or even use the honey to quench tools and blades. I have no idea what would happen if either of these happened, but I'm looking forward to the karnuq's experimentations once they get comfortable with bee magic. Lol Five new hive?!!! So the water lily implies water Mana which would be great for the ponds, and any rivers, oceans, or lakes belissar gets in the future. Would they be restricted to underwater life of would they be "amphibious" a beeing of both worlds. Lol. I'm not sure what the flax flower will bring. Maybe some type of builder bee, with reinforced wax? Maybe. Hmm, blinding vine. Could result in a blind underground varient, or a blindness venomous similar to the maddening bees we currently have. Mushroom, could be anything. Fungal bees, death bees, glowing bees, or any combination of the previous traits and more. The one I know for sure is that mushrooms are resilient and tenacious. Ice bees are apparently also possible. Thank you Farie grove. Lol. But understandable to wait till you can give them a proper environment. Underworld phlox sounds interesting. Perhaps if the medical queen, 3rd of 6th I believe we're to lay a daughter in such a toxic Mana. Perhaps they could survive and evolve to use it for the hive of hives. Might need belissar's and Niobee help tho. The fact that 1st of 5th has the slime honey basically under quarantine to insure it doesn't turn into a slime is amusing and probably for the best, at least for now. Maybe later they can purposely create the highest quality honey slime. Slime and gravity bees! Awesome. We've had some workers of both variety but now we'll start getting some soldiers and more. I wonder if the bumblebees are ready to start laying queens yet? Some varients of them would be useful too. Imagine a gravity bumblebee! The 4th of 7th's 2nd daughter is so cute. She wants to be like mama. Lol. So she's one of the ones sent to scout the Farie groves, makes sense to me. It in her blood, or maybe it's in the honey? Lol. And the Farie Mana affected some of the eggs! Farie bees? Random roll of the dice effects? Changling bees?

Durphymcbob

Yeah spirit bees, feels very much like a nature shaman, but that kinda fits with bees. The Bee memorial does say it get certain buff if certain prerequisites are met. And *making bee attribute spells easier to mantain and cast wwhile in a certain proximity* feels right up its ally

phantom

The fairies are going to hijack the children! Dang it this is why you don't let your guard down.

Darius Sanguna

so turning his mana/spell bees into temporary ghost bees

Durphymcbob

I was more thinking that belissar could eat it to temporary "open his mana to the afterlife" allowing his dead bees consciousness to be temporary get into his mana bees making them less strainfull on him and allowing him to cast more spells for longer. THE KING CALLS FOR AID DUTY BEYOND DEATH!

Durphymcbob

Thanks for the chapter! We got tower shields baby! They might be a little rough around the eedges but make a few of them and we can get a proper shields wall that can open up for the Battlecasters to safely launch spells from behind an iron wall. Looks like the gravity honey and slime honey production will be able to ramp up with the new queens I wonder how the battle meadow will use this honey gravity honey feels like it would be useful for lancers, and slime soilders act as slime cores right i wonder how big of slimes they could become and how usefulness would be in combat. And 4th of the 7th second daughter following in her adventuring mother's footsteps. If anyone has the ability and patience to safely map out a few Forest its the kids of 4th of the seventh.

Darius Sanguna

Calling it now, undead Bees in all the variations there are. From spectral over zomboid to exoskeletal.
