That makes a lot of sense. Towers don’t have to go to the Conduit’s patron, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s more common than not. I wonder why the General of the Dragon Banner Army chose Fire as his primary patron?

Lisa

I don’t think the Abyss will be nearly as effective as you seem to think. Their primary patron might be Dragon, but some of them (especially the scouts) will have water magic. True, the pressure would kill any normal human, but experienced Tower Guards are far stronger and more resilient than normal humans. And they’re used to conquering Towers. The Abyss could block a large portion of the army, but not everyone. And for all we know, there’s a way to make magical portals that will let them bypass a room if they have people on both sides.

Okay, this chapter answered a few questions I had about how the tower lords deal with normal towers they subjugate. That still doesn't answer how the tower lords will deal with Bellissars tower. Since the beastman putside are unknown and protected, the Tower lords won't attack them. Bellissar can still just put the ravine in first spot to kill all who enter. Since they can't go inside, they too won't be able to prevent the shades from getting killed by the defenders, or even the room. Should the shades be able to cross the first room, they will have to be so specialized that the decompression outside the ravine kill them. So Bellissar can just sit there eternally and build his army, while the Tower Lords can't do shit. And since he doesn't know about the Coup, there is no reason to hurry. The enemy army is in the bad position to sit before an unnassaultable tower, which grows daily with multiple purifications. I still don't see a problem for the Fey or Bellissar. They can just sit there, their enemys weaken themselves, and their wards grow stronger because of the new connection to Bellissar.

I know that they probably have somethign against this, like I doubt nobody has thought of this before, but come on, that would be so funny.

Pyronite_OD

Heres an idea: Put a dirt tunnels first. Put that large water room next. When they enter and prepare to wait it out for the emergency purification: Remove the environmental seal. Result: Whoosh.

I just had a though and wanted all of yours opinion. The general and his true dragon have a special bond. That dragon is probably his dungeon's conduit correct? If so then it explains why Dragon is upset at Fire for taking Rippotis. That tower and conduit was orginally made by dragon, but Riptos took fire has his main patorn. As well it would give parrelel to Rippotis ans Bellisar. The generals dragon if it is his conduit he probably tended and cared for it long before he had his tower, just like how Bellisar raise and tended his own conduit in Niobee.

Thanks for the chapter! It's kinda nice seeing bellisar and seeing that he actually as some skill at what he is doing not alot but at least some. But with the wards leading Starmi to bellissars tower and protecting the stigmaka, bellisar tower actually will be able to be used for defnese. Hmm seems like purifications are off the table to attack them that does make since thou. So in order to stop starmi staying on the first floor to wait for a purifaction the alliance will need to continually skirmish Starmi and keep pressure on him forcing him to slowly climb the tower and probably run thru the various defensive rooms. The mana storm fairy grove, and deep ocean room will defentily take out chunks of their forces if they can be forced to climb thru them. They might not even have anyway to pass thru a completely underwater room. They probably have some water breathspells known most likely though. And the lava fields volcano can be used again finally force them to march thru utterly fire. Those three rooms themselfs would be good enough to take out a good 3rd to a half of starmis forces. And those rooms can be intermingled with the basic fighting rooms, like the dort tunnels, the bog, and the basic fairy grove, in between. Where they can force them to set up camp and wait all while being slowly whittled down by the alliance, constantly sending them pressure not allowing them to rest making them tired and lose morale. I dont think this battle can or should be won in one big fight I one day. This is a proper seige and should take a week at least.

It is perfectly reasonable to assume the fae assault towers. Because the fae WOULD assault towers if they were not sealed away. something he had no way to know they had done.

Lisa

Given that the God of Light could revive her, they’re probably more inclined to capture and hold than simply kill. Konilas (I think) did say something about trying to convince her to go along with them. She’s a major icon and so would be really good to have in their corner.

I would think the balconies are distinct features from external shortcut, it feels too… directly integrated to the tower to be "external" to me.

Thanks for the chapter. Great to confirm tower lord starami is a traitor to humanity. Pretty sure that was mentioned in an earlier chapter but I had forgotten it. Lol. This will be interesting to fight, they probably have equal number to the allied armies or less but high quality troops overall. I'm certain we'll win but it will cost lives, both bee and non-bee. The traitorous tower lords are also planning on rebelling and possibly killing the Oracle of light. I imagine she has some plans for such a occasion, you don't live as long as she has without being paranoid.

Lisa

Silly general. Just like any military officer, preparing for and fighting the last war instead of the current/next one. Extended lives aren’t always a blessing. Advancements often happen one funeral at a time. And assuming that just because they have Towers, they are used to assaulting them! Not everyone is a conquerer, you know. The God of Light instructed you to let the gods choose who rules Towers and stop destroying the only weapon against the Hunger. These fey you fear figured that much out a long time ago.

Lisa

TFTC! Hmm, external shortcuts. Is that how Rippotis got so many doors and windows in his Tower? Or since that’s on the Tower, can that be done with regular shortcuts and Belissar just doesn’t know it? Also, how exactly do shortcuts to the exit even work? Does it dump them in the front room by the door and starting shrine, or does it actually exit them completely?
