Exactly. It you plug an appliance made in the USA to use 120 V in an European electric socket that use 230 V and fry the appliance, the error is yours, not of the producer of of the electric socket. (BTW, the sockets are different, so doing that is hard, but Alissa has taken a paper charm and plugged it into a row of crystal ovens. Not exactly something normal.)

Welcome back! Glad you had a relaxing trip!

I don't think that fair to Montan. He clearly said that the charms were to keep her warm in the winter. Alessa is the one who recklessly used the wrong tool for the wrong purpose in her ignorance.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back! Wonderful chappy!

Yup... I mean consider what this charm has done to Fabian and Dimitri. One lost his shot at knighthood cause he left his prince to be Alessa's guard. The other has basically lost all prospects his family and education was supposed to set him up for. He has damaged his family's name and more or less doomed his father's chances at a dignified retirement as his political career is ending in scandals. If Montan somehow winds up on the hook for all that... yeah getting the axe is not impossible.

Aclys

To be fair this one was on Alessa for using his charms on a crystal device with no clue as to how those items actually work, Montan never told her to try using them this way and I would be surprised if he did not know that it could cause problems.

Aclys

Yay, welcome back and glad you had a good vacation!

I assume its rooted in Montan being the (possibly sole) creator of the charm answer to Hypnotoad. It seems like he is unaware of what he made, but the imperial family know he made it, and have a birds eye view of how much damage it can do, including to the second prince. Might be motive to give the boy the "Leonardo da Quirm" treatment.

Montan... He really needs to learn what his charms actually do, and how they work.

Empty Shelf

In this chapter, Gideon backslides, Piers is low-key vicious, and Alessa screws up, as usual. Good times are had by all. Not sure I understand why Montan got singled out this chapter. The quoting of the law there at the end was a bit jarring, while also seeming rather odd; if I understand correctly, misuse of charms leads to the creator being punished, rather than the user...
