Monthly Reward Distribution Update

I’d like to inform you that from now on, all Monthly Rewards will be sent via DM to VIP Tier Members on the 1st of the following month.
If you join the VIP tier in a given month, you will receive that month's reward on the 1st of the following month.
For example:
If you join as VIP tier Between 1-31 March , you will receive all March rewards on April 1.
However, if you join on April 1, you will not receive March rewards but will get April rewards in May instead.
It is recommended to switch your membership tier after receiving your VIP reward on the 1st.
A preview of the reward will be posted on the Patreon page to let members know what’s coming for the month.
Please make sure your VIP Tier Membership is active on the 1st of the next month to ensure you don’t miss out on the rewards for the month you participated in.

As member who has to go back and forth between vip and normal tiers when I can afford this, I’m wondering how this effects that method. Does this mean I shouldn’t join or cancel a sub till after the first? I’m planning on upping my membership back up some time next week and keeping it up for a bit. But say if I go back down to normal like on the 29th of next month then that means I won’t get the reward even though I stilled paid for it? I’m just a bit confused what the purpose of this method is for? Apologies if I’m missing something here.
