If thats the case, then it be good practice indeed cause that way it shows you are great at replicating it and even show how much your skills are compared to the original

I tried to draw her in my style and she just looks a lot like official art because I don't want to give her bigger boobs or hips like I usually do

This is really good so far, I love the linework. Also, Shantae is a really good character to make fanart of, I'm pretty sure she's pretty popular online.

Also her ponytail is actually way longer too cause of her famous hairwhip attack too. Ya know if you sometimes do shantae art, you could even get more recognized on the similar art style compared to the original artists who did her and the other characters. Maybe at times when doing sfw on the Shantae Characters to show how much skills you got

Its not bad on how you draw Shantae, but she actually only has one ponytail. Even when I am not too into 18+ but how you drew Shantae kinda has that original art style
