I love these videos! I remember watching this as a student pilot! Great channel!

OMG I died at 4:16. Every time I hear the number 108 in any context (okay, it doesn't come up often. But when it does—) I always hear in my head: midshipman: "Helm! 108!” robot: “Helm to 108.” Thank you for making me feel less crazy.

Grey, where is our Directors commentary? It's been over a year since the last one.... Please fix.
Michael Valvano
Did he post the director's commentary yet
Ken Hehir
Not sure. A bit disappointed that we weren't notified before it started.
Michael M
Like some other users, I'm confused about the director's commentaries. I saw that one was going live on Youtube and thought it would show up here, but the latest I see is still metric paper. Does it just take a while to upload?

It's awesome that you showed the correct equations in the physics portion. Often it seems that pop science explanations of physics dont like showing the equations, which feels disingenuous because thats the language of physics. As an aside: I also wanted to cheerlead the multipole expansion you showed because its so versitile - you can do the same technique on gravity to derive the tidal forces.

Still not there, actually. It cut off at a really annoying mid sentence point for me so I’m extra curious.
Ken Hehir
I never even got notified. Weird.
Shah Rahman
Not sure what you mean by 'archive', there are 8 director's commentary videos in total as of now, and 7 of them are on Patreon (search 'director' on CGP Grey's Patreon page). The remaining one is TEKOI which is available for free on his Youtube channel.
Simon Priisholm
Would love the archive also didn't get to se it
Tanzanite Dragoness
When do we get the directors commentary archive? I was around halfway through when it popped out of existence so thought I’d ask.
Lukas Armstrong
It seems Grey uploaded "The Aurora: Deleted Scene" to patreon, it's directly under this post for me
Anm
YouTube has a bonus video about the auroras, but only available to YouTube subscribers. Is that video also on Patreon somewhere? I don't see it.

Absolutely delightful. As a physicist :) it's always fun to see how the esoterica of the field interact with 'monkey level' problems. Really hoping we get some indifferent universe/physics wallpapers.
Joel Neild
I like how physics snuck in with the electromagnetism explaination
Michael Hunter
Great video. I’m really hoping for a director’s commentary on this one!

Thanks for puting WAW airport :D And it really feels like a Vsauce video - in a very good way. ^_^ Thanks Edit: ...or does it? 🤔 (could not let it slide🤪 - I will let myself out... 😅)

Bonnie Bee at 4:02 :)
Avi Weinstein
Truly one of your best videos yet. Your care and attention to detail will always inspire me.
Kimberly Goetz
Thanks for the excellent Fifth Element reference. Well done.

Regarding the ending: Blame Canada! (cue South Park clip)
Seth Martin
Well worth my money. I teach Search and Rescue, and declination is something we deal with a LOT and that I spend a LOT of time covering. Not anymore! Now I'm just gonna play this video!
Fly8oy
Great video! We laughed, we cried, we looked at each other strangely when the compass didn't match the runway number which then got changed again (which it very much still mostly would). And no Grey, there should not be any leading zeros in runway numbers.

Agree, Grey knocked it out of the park. One of the best. Loved every minute.
Craig Brickey
They might come only every 200,000 years, but when they do, they're awesome!
Ryan Tripicchio
I'm just happy that there's a Secret Life of Walter Mitty reference (I think)
Logan Kenworthy
Man just fantastic
Dawn Earp
My wife needed to investigate why I was cackling so much. <3
Øystein Furu Almo
Absolutely brilliant! Fun and educational and very CGP Grey! Just how I like'em!
Joseph Gayoso
Amazing. Quintisential EduTuber Grey homage. The Avengers: Endgame of your content, lol. I loved all the references to your career this far. :)
Bradley Rounds
One of your best videos, 10/10
ordsten
Among your best, I laughed many times

"There is only math, that we're not gonna do." I need a video on how to apply this axiom to the rest of my life.
Skeleton Man
Lovely video :3
Eamonn Sweeney
The vid that finally convinced me to get onto patreon. You're my spirit animal, Grey. Keep it up.
Marco Ferrari
Amazing!

This was an amazing video that flew by! So much info and not dragging at all! So glad to be supporting you and I didn't mean those two aviation puns earlier now that I'm looking at it
August Pokorak
Wow. This is an amazing achievement. It feels in many ways like the maximized educational youtube video: it has a very high density of informational content while also providing constant immediate rewards such as jokes and narrative devices, all supported by engaging animation complex enough to have story and informational elements which exist just in the animation. I have recently been thinking that the art I enjoy the most is that which maximizes that which it is, and this video certainly fits in that group. Proud to be a supporter.

The best to do it. I always walk away with a deeper understanding of the world around us. You are a masterful educator Grey! Another great video.
Bryson Winchester
Ok, a three-in-one video... That makes sense as to why it took a smidge longer than the standard. Again, sorry for slaggin' ya at Massey Hall. It was not at all deserved.
Leo Santos
Love the twists!
