That's a statement that would need a reference. I've never heard about the Great London fire being caused by tumbleweeds and never seen tumbleweeds in the UK

Oh wow that’s second TIL for the day. I guess maybe they just didn’t make it in the part of Europe where I grew up. Growing up I only saw them in movies and was convinced it was native to Midwest.

Just curious - if it’s so good, why did it not spread out of Russia into the rest of Europe. I get that Great Plains are perfect for it but it seems to have happily invaded less flat parts of the America as well. Why the same story didn’t play out in Europe?
