Here's a new series from us called Discovery Queue.
We're still going to be doing one-off essays for indie games, but we wanted something a bit more laid back, easier to record, and something we could do a bit more regularly to check out a bigger variety of games.
Like maybe even an RTS game next week?
If you're big into our essays this probably won't scratch that itch, but for those that like more of our general banter and want something you can have on in the background, this is more for you.

Surprisingly fun format in between review/essay and stream. I think what made it work for me as its own thing in between these classic formats was Marty always having his questionnaire/ the relevant "talking points" ready for the moment the conversation slowed down or when additional information (like "how does this feature feel to you") seemed helpful. This made it feel less unprepared to chaotic than a stream while at the same time being more free-form than an essay. A very very small thing: The cut after 23:25, while very reasonable, still felt a little surprising optically and made me wind back to see if the site had reloaded and I had missed a few moments. Maybe a (potentially) very small visual effect would help make the intentionality clear? I imagine there may be games in the future where you want to do more cuts to show specific things.
