There's something about Marathon's art style that's driving me nuts about how unappealing it is without me being able to point out why. It feels like an abstraction of an abstraction, like Watch Dog 2's hacker aesthetic (UI not in game) but less grounded. I'm not sure who this art style is meant to appeal to, what fantasy it's meant to fulfil.

I don’t play this type of game but it’s probably a bad omen that having seen the two, I think I would’ve preferred to play Concord rather than Marathon if I was so inclined.
