Just left the cinema. Really enjoyed this movie, and probably would have missed it if not for the Rewind chat. Gladys felt rather Saville-coded at times. Tracksuits and bad hair. Maybe I'm just still struggling to remove 28 Years Later from my brain though...

I didn't mind the reveal. I liked that it was relatively simple. (And it made thematic sense given what the film is about. It's a sort of hunt, movie.) But I think a lot of the joy of the film - and the substance of it - is in the execution of it. And a lot of what the film is about is, to me, in how the film is about it.

For me, the first half of the film worked much better than the supernatural reveal.

I loved the dialogue in Weapons. everyone reacted to the crazy stuff realistically and talked like normal people. I also liked the sound design because it wasn't over produced with bad foley and it really heightened some of the tense moments. this movie has a lot of emotion and it wants and invites you to feel those emotions, to sit with them. like a fork to the face this film will stick with you.
