About the update, I plan to release it in 25-27 this month (the range is for game testing).

Finish all other quests first to raise your exposure potiental, then talking with book merchant. Read the book by night and then go to bar at night you'll be able to do quest there.

Completing the night bar quest the second time will give you 'Hot Topic'. By that point, the game temporary would have nothing left to explore, you guys must wait for new patch :D

You can check if the bug is fixed by re-downloading the game again, I just updated it yesterday. And you should load the savegame earlier before the moment bug happens.
