The Fateful Day
🕑 Added 2023-05-25 16:00:05 +0000 UTCHe remembers that day like it was yesterday even though it was 700 or 800 years ago. He sat against the cold stone of his chamber. He was alone... unlike most imps who were held in these quarters though most of them were here for messing up, not paying attention, depending on who they served. Most of the times it's a higher tier demon making their way to this... brothel, if you can call it that. Though considering how imps are seen in the demon realm... well, any demon is a higher tier and above an imp. All kinds of noises could be heard coming from the dark.
Some imps wailed, some imps fought and argued. Some imps moaned, when you have no life and are just for use, they kind of do what they can to pass the time. Plus it makes good practice. But this imp, he was different. He was very much what you would call a troublemaker, even within the demon realm. Uncooperative, refusing submission. He was what they called someone who didn't took to their place. He was an imp, he would always be an imp, and imps have their place in this world. Nothing could change that.
The soft pitter patter of feet made their way down through these iron bars. Some imps noticed and took to their place, others rushed the bar yelling profanities and some begged... they begged well, begged how good they will be or how they wouldn't mess up again. A red imp stepped up to the bars of this specific imp who was held separate from the others. "You know..." said the red imp, "you should be thankful for how lucky you are. Any other would had been disposed by now." he said looking down at the imp.
This red imp, wasn't that special, not by looks, he was a standard red demon imp. No horns but he was gifted with wings, the lucky ones were always born with wings. He was well fed, adorned the cleanest and most polished gold, though he too had cuffs, all imps did. It was a sign of their status and submission. A good amount of imps belonged to a demon for help, or just for use. It might sound like a cold hearted way of life, but imps really enjoyed their position.... most did at least. This one, even with his useless rebellion, somehow was lucky, even without wings he had a unique pigment to his skin. The thought behind it was he'd be popular, submissive, and pretty breakable. As it turns out it wasn't the case.
"What do you want Lomas?" came a soft defeated sound from the imp curled up against the cold wet walls.
"How about you answer me as Sir? For starters." he said with a soft growl and a scowl to boot.
The little bright skinned imp scoffed. "Are you here to mentally torture me for a change?" he said as he turned away from the red imp while he rubbed some bruises on his hands and arms. Some new ones... some old ones. Most of them didn't hurt anymore. He was used to being sent to higher tier demon's chambers for their use, whatever they pleased. It was always the same though, the second this imp refused no matter what his task was... he was always 'taught a lesson'.
"You're such an ass... No one would torture you if you just lifted your tail and did as you were told. It's easy. Moan out, give them a sappy face and take it. You can't even be a servant without running you dumb mouth. Would it kill you to at least smile at whom you serve? That's the most minimal thing ever." He said before he flicked his fingers at the lock as it came undone and the iron doors opened. "Now get up, you were chosen yet again" he said before whispering at the bottom of his breath "Specifically you for who knows why".
"I don't care for it." the smaller bruised imp said. The red imp glared and flicked his hand at the imp. "You don't have a say!" and with a beckon of his fingers the imp was being yanked and dragged by his big ears. There was a grunt and yelp as he held the base of his ears. This was nothing new, this happened over, and over again. He was very hard headed. Stubborn, as if one day he's actions would result in something different.
"FINE FINE!!" yelled the imp being dragged in all of this, when Lomas let go of him, the smaller one stood up, sighed, and followed the red imp as he covered his privates.
"See? That wasn't so hard, if only you behaved you'd have the same kind of freedom I have." Lomas said with a smirk, proud of himself and his servitude. The smaller imp rolled his eyes in disgust. It was as if he was born into the wrong body. Most imps were very willing to help and be of use and or be used. This one fought his calling, his yearning, and no one would understand him. He possessed no magical prowess, no wings, for whatever pity life had in his making, he was at least born with horns but they were pretty useless as self defense.
As they walked higher, climbed some stairs, the closer they got, the more nervous Lomas seemed to appear. "You will first be showered. You smell like piss and musty." the red imp explained, his tail swishing around nervously.
"My cell has nothing. You can't blame me." the horned imp said.
"See, other imps would take it as a compliment. It's like your brain is broken. You can't even act like a normal imp." he said becoming frustrated again. Once they got to a door, Lomas opened the door and there was a wooden tub with two other imps awaiting for their next imp to clean up.
"Oh look who we have, the asshole got chosen?"
"Who would choose this ass? It's not even good to look at." The imps snickered. The two were quick, it was their job in this place. They were good at it, plus they got to run their hands amongst the bodies they enjoyed. Remarks were always had, and this imp tried to behave though he preferred to do certain things himself. Lomas on the other hand kept shuffling his feet and pacing.
The nameless horned imp began to notice how much a treatment he was getting, the best shampoos, the most attention to detail he had ever received, it was almost soothing to be treated, not like an imp for once, but like something special. "What's going on? Who asked for me?" the horned imp asked.
Lomas peered back. "Just be on your best behavior for once.... for once in your life. Otherwise this customer will take you out himself, and there's nothing we can do about it." he said, Lomas's nervousness transferred into the horned imp like a bell being rung. The only question running in the horned imp's mind was 'why?' would this be who he succumbs to? Why would he? Why choose him?
Question after question rattled the imps head. Or perhaps he was just... expendable.
"So this is it? This is how you guys will get rid of me? Feed me to a high tier demon?" The horned imp asked.
"... He searched you out specifically. He described you... and asked for you and only you." Lomas said with a worried look to him.
"A high tier demon asked for this asshole?" said one of the bathing imps. "Who would ask for this useless thing??" asked the other. One look and one look alone from Lomas answered them both and shut them up as well. Even the horned imp can sense how their entire mood changed. They were no longer as cheerful. Confusion washed over the imp as he was being rinsed. Who was this high tier demon? Why was he demanded... certainly not for his none-existent skills in bed. Definitely not for his behavior, all he had was a bad reputation? Was this higher tier demon looking to break him? Break him or end him.... The horned imp began to put things together. This was probably the end of the road for him.
Was he to continue to be defiant as he had always been, the guest may take the consequences to his leisure. Then again... perhaps this was a long time coming. A bittersweet release, from the wrong life he believed he was born into.
"Alright, you're looking as clean as possible... can't do anything about the bruising, though if you do anything to piss this demon off, those bruises would be the least of your problems." Said Lomas before escorting the horned imp to his location.
He was taken to a floor he's never been to. This was the most luxurious rooms, for the... utmost important of guests. Imps have spoken about this room, how they wish they could live here permanently. It was paradise for imps who's jobs were servitude. That's what their lives were meant for. What they would amount to.
Finally they arrived and the door and Lomas tried to hide his nervousness with as much a profession as he had. The hall was cluttered with imps and demons all who wanted to be in the presence of this figure. Quickly Lomas began to scatter imps and guests back to their rooms and away from this door. Once the coast was clear he took in a deep breath. "Alright lets go, don't fuck this up, for your own sake." He opened the door and pushed the horned imp inside. "Your highness, I hope you are ready. We have brought over what you wished." he said before presenting the horned imp who just covered himself as if he there was much of a reason to hide anything. Lomas bit the corner of his lip, 'how disrespectful' the red imp thought to himself but he must'n worry now. His attention quickly went to the demon laying across the bed in the darkness of the room, with just the one torch lit by the door.
"Goooooood..." spoke the deep bellowing voice from across the room.
Lomas gulped, "A-are you sure I can't interest you in a different imp, Y-your magnificence?" he tried one last time, after all it would look good on him to offer an obedient imp for demons to use as they pleased. It would mean he had good taste, which other demons admired.
"Noooo.... this one will do just fine." a toothy smile seemed to faintly glow from the shadowed silhouette that laid across the bed. His figure was massive compared to the imps. Even as professional as Lomas was, he was visibly nervous around this figure. The horned imp caught up on that, Lomas was never nervous. He was a pro, even if he was the one chosen, after all he had a reputation to him, that's why he roamed freely and instead was given one of the top jobs around this hell hole. An imp who sold other imps, you couldn't beat that, that was the closest there was to freedom. And who would want that anyways?
"Well, a-alright then! I will leave you to him then. Just ring the bell and we will get you whatever you desire... Sire!" He spoke before bowing... before quickly tugging the imp down by his collar to force him to bow. Softly speaking, barely at a whisper. "You better do well asshole, our reputation depends on it." he then stood up again, gave a nervous chuckle and stepped out, closing the door behind him.
The horned imp just stood there, watching Lomas leave, he thought about it for a second. This was it... he could... be obedient and do as they wish... or refuse to be anyone's toy to use. Whoever this was... they were at the top of the food chain... The imp took a deep breath, hung his head... and spoke. "Who are you... and what do -you- want?" as he stared at the limestone paved floors that were soft to his feet for once....... He peeked up only to see that the toothy grin had spread wider at the rude introduction the imp had performed for this demon.

Dude seriously, fuck Lomas. This is amazing and so sad, made me really feel for Tush and understand his rebellious and brash attitude he possesses now. I also see why he kinda likes to put royalty in its place, they were really shitty to him... Can't wait to see more but I might cry seeing where we are now. If Tush ever visited the DemonRealm he'd be treated with the respect he deserves ❤️

Wow man... this is written quite wonderfully, with absolutely stellar art to boot. I love the character lore background, it absolutely opens up so much into explaining The Imps' current behaviors and demeanors, as well as their power dynamic. Keep it up! I'd love to read more of your writing <3
