He's pretty dense to her signals for quite a while throughout the show. But unlike other shows, he actually makes progress. xD

I don’t think Ichikawa is dense, he is horribly insecure. He knows he is at the bottom of the barrel, and then someone comes along. A someone who is at the absolute top of the school and she signals that she likes him, a lot. Of course he will interpret everything she does in a way that makes more sense to him and to the world.

From Solo Leveling to Dangers in my Heart. Talk about balancing blood and sugar. It's awesome to see those two progressing more and more. How he slowly realizes that he actually has a chance... and how this guy in the end just get's sidelined so hard. And yeah... It bafles me how dense males are in Romcoms ... Denser than military grad tungsten shells. XD
