The maid got a lot more play in the manga than the anime, and she is a good character. Worth noting that the anime is following the manga more than the book, which is good for a few reasons.

She wasn't threatening to destroy everything she was just casting her flashiest spell, she even thinks about how she forgot it causes storms. A lot of what she does is because her on opinion of normal is skewed.

This episode made me so uncomfortable. There's nothing I hate more than to be dragged into social events. 🤣 I'd have just jumpd up onto the roof or somewhere where nobody could find me with her abilities. ... Or just made a dark aura whatever to scare everyone away. 🤣 At least she had "some" fun in the end.
