I think they had a little reference to "Alien" at one point when he was losing control of his Kaiju form, when that long, tongue sort of thing with the teeth came out of his mouth, thought that was really cool. And the AOT reference β οΈβ οΈ Almost was her villain origin story π±

So glad you enjoyed the episode! This was a great episode! You might get comments from other manga readers (I'm one too) that might speak disparagingly of the show. I loved what will be covered in S1, and what will be covered in S2 and beyond I think gets a bad rap because the author had what I think were health issues. The manga comes out at times monthly instead of bi-weekly. The manga sometimes does have pacing issues because of the authors health and skill, but an anime has such an advantage in padding out things with battles. Its so much easier to pad out things with cool and epic fights compared to a manga artist trying to keep up while struggling. So I'm glad you are enjoying it! I look forward to seeing how the anime continues to adapt things :)

Well that is more in line with what Level 99 villainess got last season compared to shows like Solo leveling, and Frieren. So idk are you happy that itβs βonlyβ on the level of that show. Seeing how you call it anime of the season. As I know that you did not think of Level 99 villainess that way

That scene at 8:30 reminded me about the iconic scene from AoT that I have heard so much about. So I wonder Brandon you that have seen both this and AoT. Which version did you think was better?

This show just doesn't click with me. ... I find it rather boring. And this back and forth with flashbacks ... idk ... The only show that worked for me was Frieren. I'll probably wait until it's done in full and binge the whole thing. I can see why people like it ... but so far it's less interesting for me than the most generic isekai. XD Maybe the whole show in one go makes another impression than those tiny weekly episodes.
