There is an old saying 'There's no such thing as bad press'. The LN author was very clever. That's a hugely competitive field, so they threw in as many controversy inducing elements as they could think of to generate public comment. That draws on the readers initially, but quality keeps them there.

Oh I like those 2 sides ... what I don't like is this toxicity shes spewing around every now and then. She's outright hostile. ... No matter how great those other traits are ... I despise people with such toxic traits.

Keep it up, Brandon. You'll possibly know, but Alya-san was voted third-best light novel in 2024 (8 LNs out so far, story is slowly wrapping up). This show is not just a flash in the pan, it has got a very solid foundation. I predicted it to become the romcom of the season, and with the very competent conversion from Doga Kobo, I am convinced now that it will succeed in that.

Wait a bit. We've seen two sides of Yuki so far - the prim lady and the otaku imouto. Once you get to see her third and final form, you will understand her much better - why she is doing what she is doing.

Brandon stuck it out for the entirety of Gushing Over Magical Girls and Chained Soldier, so I would say the threshold is pretty high. Still waiting for reactions to Interspecies Reviewers and Monster Musume, but my hopes aren't *that* high.

Yuki is a gremlin, but still mercilessly ships them. I love it. Still wondering how they're siblings with different surnames though. Either they're stepsibs or mom remarried immediately after Masachika's dad exited stage right (dead or deadbeat, take your pick).
