🕑 Added 2024-02-25 16:35:39 +0000 UTCAnother Star Rail character Ive been wanting to draw ever since I saw her. Sadly she is a 4 star so she has already become obsolete and mostly forgotten, but she still has my favorite design (and voice, in japanese) in the game.
As usual with characters I havent drawn before it took me a while before I got her look down, especially the face and hair. When she was originally revealed people joked about her being "depressed Shenhe" and how she has that "dead inside" look. So I wanted to make sure I nailed that, including details like the darker area under the eyes, which makes it look like she hasnt slept in 5 years, lol. Either way, if youre into goth girls youre gonna like Hanya thats for sure.
In terms of body type she is a pretty perfect match for me, Ive always imagined her as being pretty busty, with saggier breasts and large areolae. Very similar look to my au ra pretty much, even down to the paleness, lol.
Anyway, I was pretty undecided about how much clothing I wanted to give her for this one. I think this would have looked really good with her wearing a kimono as well, but at the time I guess I was in lingerie mood so thats what I went for.
Another thing was the nails, they are black in game so that was the obvious thing to go with specially to match the lips which is what I usually do, but I wanted to try matching them to the hair instead and I really liked how they added a bit more color so I went with that instead.
For the hair itself, it also took me a while to find the right color. Its supposed to be this blueish gray and if you look around at art of her, youll see people making it anywhere from just plain gray to plain blue, so yeah. I tried to do a nice gradient as usual, and in the end I went a bit heavier on the blue (especially towards the tips) because I thought it looked best here and stood out a bit more.
When it comes to the scene I could definitely have gone for something darker, but after playing around with it for a while I settled for something Im comfortable with and just tried to avoid it being too boring through the lightning and such.
Also for some reason I didnt keep the sketch for this one, I must have deleted it by mistake or something because I remember seeing it on my sketch folder, oh well.
I wanna draw her some more too, I think next I wanna do a back pic because I really like how she looks from the back, especially because of her hair. But between that, other characters (Black Swan and Acheron are definitely on the list), my au ra, and commissions, no idea when Ill get to it. This was a very slow month too so I need to step it up in March again so I can catch up a bit.

Funny you mention the eyes, I forgot to talk about it but it was one of the things that was pretty hard to pull off because Hanya has kinda light blue pupils and my first try at it, she looked way too intense like a female terminator, lol. And I still wanted her to have that usual gentle motherly look I love, so that was too much. But then I realized if I made the blue glow a bit smaller to the point where it doesnt stand out so much, it started to work much better. She still looks intense if you focus on her eyes only but now it works with the rest of the pic.

Oh my, Hanya looks awesome in your style! Idk what it is lately but your eyes have been on top form they look so damn good, even with the characters being revealing and what should be drawing my attention isnt lol, I just cant help but go back to the eyes. But here with that darker eye shadow matching the lipstick it just draws me to them. Also the tease of pubic hair, always nice ;) She has a fantatsic design and just wish I had more chances to use her in game. I cannot wait to see more of her especially that back piece you mentioned. I wish I had more of a reason to play her, but my account is just too stacked already as a day 1 player, and its about to get even more competitive with Sparkle/Hanabi next week. Its a shame they gave Hanya a 4 star kit because she has a 5 star design. Glad you like the Star Rail stuff, Im definitely gonna keep doing them since there are so many great character designs to pick from. Kafka is definitely on the list too, I just forgot about it, lol as well as Tingyun (how can you resist foxy girls?). Would have drawn them already if I was just more productive and stopped slacking all the time, but Im pretty sure youll see them at some point.

Lookin incredible! I like that you chose to match her nails with her hair instead of sticking to the black she wears ingame. I personally feel it fits her more! I had the honor of getting her just a week ago or so and i really wanna try and use her since she instantly was to my liking in terms of looks and skillset. I look forward to seeing you draw her some more in the future. So far i gotta say your own au'ra and the honkai themed pieces are my personal favourites out of the whole collection. what are your thoughts on drawing kafka btw? If you already did i may have not found it yet. I ask mainly cuz, like to many ppl probably, she is pretty much my absolute fav charakter in honkai so far and i'm really interested in seeing her in your style one day (obv. This is not meant as a demand, just simple curiosity)
