Oh Seungkwannie...he's such a bright and lovely person but when he sings emotional songs it reveals a certain inner sadness that's just so heartbreaking. I love him, he's so precious. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Me wondering if you already recorded this when I responded to a question about songs that hit you or something like that... because yeah. That first song. Listen to it every day and never again. Yeah. I did for a while, I mentioned before - like every night before bed I was rewatching this. Now it's just every so often when I feel like I can go there to the feels. It's interesting the kind of songs he thinks bring a feeling of relief, right? I have seem quite a few Mujin services now, and I feel like Seungkwan's song choices are all SO introspective. They aren't love songs or heartbreak songs, they're about life and struggle and making peace within yourself and finding strength. Or the duet song which is really warm but is very unusual as well in the way it talks about caring for and admiring someone. Anyway! It's so interesting. What you said about Lee Mujin! I never thought of it that way but I was thinking about that quality of his during this duet and then you had such a neat way to describe it, that's so apt! But yeah. That's my bias right there, THE BOO SEUNGKWAN. (And also Wendy and you've already seen hers!) Seungwan & Seungkwan, two greatest vocalists of their generation <3 OK OK OK - I have one for Kerry but it was actually adorable so like idk what to say about this but .... when she was doing her CUTE MBTI she spelled cute QUTE I'm preeeeettttyy sure. I didn't run it back. So ... I might even be wrong. And if I'm right it's like... extra cute. ok you're right Kerry does no wrong. (Also I promise Hoshi's is THE most fun LMJ next to Han's, and Dino's is cute and not terrible and also Jun's is pretty adorable and not totally heartbreaking either). I don't think I've watched Hongjoong's yet so maybe I'll end up watching it with you. Kerry lots of love to you for experiencing this vulnerable thing and sharing it with us, I know it is rough.

Since you like puns, this is a really good one of Boo Seungkwan: Their boss from Pledis has an instagram named pledis_boss. Seungkwan then purposely made his instagram name pledis_boos. Sometimes people get confused and @ Seungkwan's instead of the actual boss's.

If you want to avoid emotions I suggest staying away from Seungkwan’s new song ‘Dandelion’ it directly references Moonbin’s last Twitter post. I would also stay away from ‘What kind of future’ by Woozi. Back during their ideal cut concert Woozi stated the importance of this song and how he would only perform it for that event. However, when Moonbin passed Woozi wrote that he would fight the company to release the song for Moonbin on his birthday. They are both beautiful songs but they do carry some emotional weight.

I don't know enough about intricacies of vocals to judge, but I've seen vocal coaches rank DK higher in how his voice sounds, but Seungkwan higher in vocal technique, like the difficulty of skills that he's able to do with his voice so I guess which one is ranked higher depends on which aspect you assign more importance to. For me, I think Seungkwan is more likely to make me cry.

IIRC Car, The Garden is called that because his real name consists of homophones of the Korean words for car and garden, so it's basically a Korean-English pun. Like Suho's insta handle is kimjuncotton because the 'myeon' part of his name is a homophone of the Korean word for cotton. Korean has tons of homophones, and they love their puns!

So I have seen just the 4 Lee Mujin services of Seventeen members and this is my fav (no offence), not just the singing but the Songs were my soul songs and I am so glad Seungkwan introduced me to them. Also I feel the fact that I was introduced to these songs with Seungkwan's amazing immersed singing that I feel more in love with these. I cried when I watched this the first time and I have cried during every rewatch and reaction I have seen. I cried today too but yea I love it. I have listened to these songs a lot post this episode but watching and listening to Seungkwan sing these makes me always cry :') It also reminds me of Seungkwan singing BigMama's Forsake in the king of masked singer. Made me, the audience, Judges, everyone and Seungkwan himself cry. Love it. And I'm glad you got to check this out~

Seungkwan's newest song 'DANDELION' is released yesterday. It's a dear one he started working on during his short hiatus last year so, yes, expect it's filled with emotions and longing. He also sang a number of OSTs for kdrama like KIND OF LOVE (Mother, 2018), GO (Record of Youth, 2020) and STILL YOU (Doctor Romantic 3, 2023). He had one with DK & Woozi called IS IT BEAUTIFUL? (Hospital Playlist 2, 2021) which was indeed beautiful and so much more than that. And~ he has many cover songs! My personal picks are BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW, LOVE POEM and BEAUTIFUL MOMENT.

Virtual pats on the back, Kerry🩵 It's been almost 2yrs yet Seungkwan's is still my personal favorite out of all Lee Mujin Service eps I watched. He was able to show off his vocal prowess and still be himself. He even made Mujin comfortable and supported him. We know the songs he chose were really what he listens to and sing even in his free time... Ever since I heard the songs here, they became precious to me too. I even have them written on my journal. They were so relatable and he sang them like he's pouring everything out and showing his inner feelings to the listeners and it gets more heartbreaking. Seungkwan loves this kind of ballads btw. But also he relates to them and is comforted by them. I also sometimes question how can he feel relieved with such songs... like the cover of Choi Yuri's SHAPE which he released last Jan 16 (his bday) and even have a video which he edited himself. That shattered my heart. On his bday. As he wishes for us to feel the warmth and comfort by it.
