Jhoes Venture Part 4 Ep 1

“Koi-chi” pronunciation supremacy Listen to how the character says his own name

Ethan Hines

Joseph Joestar (Gramps from Part 3) had an affair with a random Japanese lady while he was in Japan in Part 3. That random lady is Josuke Higashikata’s mother. Joseph Joestar is Jotaro Kujo’s grandfather. Jotaro Kujo’s mother, Holly Kujo, is Joseph Joestar’s daughter whom he had with his wife Suzie Q. This makes Josuke Higashikata and Holly Kujo half-siblings. Which, in turn, means that Josuke Higashikata is Jotaro Kujo’s uncle even though he’s over ten years younger than him. It’s very confusing when it’s first revealed. But the more you think about it, it starts to make sense. It’s also funny as hell that Joseph was out here in Japan still getting ass when he was 61 years old.

Koichi is pronounced like "Koh-wee-chee"

ellisg56

Also the subtitles on this version (although the best I’ve seen overall) keep the Japanese name order of surname first, so it’s understandably easy to miss since he introduced himself as Kujo Jotaro here

Dave Spanners

The soundtrack is the best too imo, I know you'll love it :)

Dave Spanners

Aha that's completely understandable, it's a confusing show at the best of times! Hope you enjoy part 4, it's my favourite part and I love how they include Jotaro in it :)

DrumRollTony

No, had no clue. They didn't look anything alike at all. I made a comment about them sounding similar but every other time we went into a new segment it was new characters

Dave Spanners

I get how things can be confusing in jojos, but please tell me u recognise that Jotaro is the jojo from part 3

JujutsuKaisenFan

Either this or the next arc will be your favorite imo.

Unbeknownst Man

I have already stated it before, but I'll hazard a guess and say that from this part onwards, you'll like Jojo's even more, both in terms of storytelling and OST. The first 3 parts are amazing, imho, but from Part 4+ is when Araki's vision for Jojo's truly starts shining! Great reaction, Tony!

Proxy

glad you dug this one! I think Part 4 is a pretty big jump in quality, to be honest. if you liked the first episode, I think you'll like the rest of it too.

I wouldn't recommend looking up the whole family tree in google. It would have some spoilers from later parts. Jotaro's family line: Jonathan Joestar -> Joseph Joestar -> Holy Joestar/Kujo -> Jotaro Kujo Josuke's family line: Jonathan Joestar -> Joseph Joestar -> Josuke Higashikata So Jotaro is Josuke's nephew despite being around 10 years older than him

Tyler Bowler

this made my day so much better

killerofcheese

honestly part 4 > part 3

TacoLuvr

Short simple summary for understanding our JoJo’s this far: Joseph from Part 2 became an older man in Part 3. He had a daughter (Holly part 3) who had a son Jotaro. Turns out Joseph in his old age had an affair while he was in Japan with Josuke’s Mom, who then had Josuke 🌲

DrumRollTony

I was so confused. I didn't think it was him

Lulu

The new style makes Jotaro look younger even though he was a teen in part 3 and is 28 now XD

Fuji Nami

Part 3 jojo is the grandson of part 2 jojo. When part 2 jojo went to japan to visit his grandson he had an affair to make part 4 jojo. Part 2 jojo is part 3 jojo's granddad and part 4 jojo's direct dad even though part 4 jojo is younger

SKAOG

10:46 his fever i believe coincides with the time when the Stardust Crusaders were trying to defeat Dio. He fell ill like Jotaro's Mom Holly

SKAOG

Josuke's name is composed of 2 kanji characters Jo, and Suke. The character used for Suke can also be read as Jo, which is why he can also be called a JoJo

SKAOG

I belive the creator changed up the art style and character design from midway through Part 4 manga onwards, but that would be jarring for the anime, so i think they decided to change it from the start. The change was to make characters more lean vs Parts 1-3 which feature buff men popular during its time of writing 1980s/90 (cant remember when exactly)

SKAOG

The answer for which period this is in is within the Opening "Great Days", idk if saying it now is a spoiler, maybe they'll mention the timeline

SKAOG

LET'S GO MORIOH CHO!

We love and appreciate all that you are doing bro. It is a dream come true to see a music teacher doing this with such authenticity and skill. In your personal or travel time, consider viewing this or certain key episodes in English, because it hits different but just as good as the Japanese voices. Not every anime does so in masterful way.

TheGoblerTrainsMovinIn

Also yeah the later you get into jojo the less muscly the characters are lol

TheGoblerTrainsMovinIn

Hell yeah part 4 baby, I never noticed that severed hand at the start

peeps

It's kind of confusing without drawing it out on paper but basically Jotaro (Part 3) is Joseph's (Part 2) grandson. Josuke (Part 4) is Joseph's (Part 2) son which technically makes him Jotaro's (Part 3) uncle despite being much younger then him.

Parampreet Singh

I love part 3 but part 4 hits different. I am hella excited for this journey.

https://imgur.com/a/jojo-part-4-family-tree-tjjE1fd here is the currently known family tree for part 4, removing any spoiler

DrumRollTony

Yea that was like sooo loud on the punches and crunches

Jet Man

Just an FYI, the absurd censorship issues were pretty much a part 3 thing when localized. Part 4 does not have those blacked out parts like before.

ellisg56

Relevant family tree as of the end of last season: Jonathan Joestar - Protagonist of part 1. Joseph Joestar - Jonathan’s Grandson, protagonist of part 2 and gramps in part 3. Jotaro Kujo - Joseph’s Grandson and protagonist of part 3

LewdProxy

Part 4 baby! Heads up on the sfx, they get pretty loud and frequent going forward even on regular audio.
