I love Inosuke, he just doesn't understand anything about regular human interactions lol. He was wondering why this random woman would wanna do all this stuff and wish for their safety, but he also felt really happy when she gave him clothes and felt her kindness. That was the reason he had that flashback when he was talking to Tanjiro bc he gave him that same feeling.

Tanjiro acts like an older sibling. Middle and younger siblings always struggle understanding the motivations involved in stories like this. They react like the world is defined by small gestures and feelings, as if left up to chance.

I think it is an age thing tbh, or at least it factors in. When I first watched this season which was years ago, I was able to tolerate Zenitsu and even laughed at some of his scenes. Now rewatching it with you I'm agreeing with you most of the time lol.

Funny thing you say you wouldnt put Demon Slayer on your resume, at the hight of its popularity it was beating One Piece in manga sale records and the movie is the most grossing movie in japanese box office history. In 2021, middle of the pandemic. And after all that author was like, im done im told my story this is the end. If they tried to make manga longer, they would earn millions more, and i kinda super respect that.

I heard from somewhere a while ago (I think it was trash taste?) that in Japan demon slayer was popular with kids and people that's around the age of grand parents because it's simple and easy to follow. Also the "comedy bits" reminds me of retro anime.

Btw the answer to your question. Demon slayer is popular worldwide more than in japan. Japanese audience usually don’t consume much general anime media. They have a very different taste. Not all of then ofc.
