cause overlord is a generic power fantasy that's been done a bajillion times, animation is meh and sooooo much CGI. It's only "DnD" in the way it takes place in a fantasy world.

I agree. Its a good show, but the absolute cheese dialogue and male wish fulfillment stuff is pretty bad. On the other hand Tony is now quite deep into anime so maybe it won't bother him so much. But I guess he'll form his own opinion when he watches it.

Tony this is just a heads up for your benefit about episode releases for Re:Zero since it's leading in the poll. For the first season, there is two versions. The original release, and a Director's Cut. The Director's Cut is identical except that it combines each episode into a double episode (So for the DC episode 1 is 1+2 of the original) with some additional scenes added in. Basically 50 min double episodes instead of 23 min episodes. Also checking Crunchyroll right now, they only have the DC listed (because they save money not paying to renew the other license...). It was basically just a rerelease before season 2 came out with some edits that were part of the Bluray release but if it wins this is probably the one you'll be watching. This is also only the case for season 1. Season 2 is just a normal release so once you finish season 1 it's back to typical 23 minute episodes. Season 3 starts next month. Just thought this would be good to know up front.

XD Well, we will see. Never watched Re:Zero myself so can't say much here but according to my personal experience, some famous titles may be simply full of crap. We will check it.

I heard Shangri-la reactions had problems on YT because of Copyright. Does copyright extend to Patreon as well? If not I mean Shangri-La Frontier would be a great recommendation.

I watched some Fate Zero but couldn’t watch anymore. That whole thing with the kids put a sour taste in my mouth and made it depressing (Crunchyroll should place a warning at the start of those episodes). I mean I like the protagonist, animation and Kajiura-san’s music but the rest was meh.

I’ve previously posted about Evangelion and my vote will go towards Fate more than likely but I also think Blue Lock would be pretty fun. Great sport anime with a second season coming in a few weeks, even if it is a little over the top at times it’s still quite enjoyable :)

For FMAB replacements, I recommend Shangri-La Frontier (fantasy-game), Pluto (sci-fi), Re:Zero (dark fantasy-thriller-isekai), Fate series (Fate/Zero and then Fate/Stay Night: UBW) jut bonkers premise and amazing animation and fights, Trigun Stampede (sci-fi, action adventure), Overlord (game-dark fantasy).
