In regards to what you said at the beginning, I'd be happy for 2 episodes a week if you would like to space them out a bit more. You could in theory pick up another cringe tier show as well so that the cringe tier doesn't lose value.

Suspension bridge effect is love and danger being a similiar type of emotion that you would confuse danger with love if youre experiencing something dangerous with someone. The idea is that you take your crush through a suspension bridge and them being afraid around you will get them to fall for you

Maybe for the same reason you don't see a lot of horror TV shows that aren't also like, a comedy or a drama. It works better in a movie or book format, there are a few good anime horror films

Imo there's a lot of good anime that has horror elements, but I can't actually name any true "horror anime" that are good. Lots of manga tho

Imo the main reason this show’s humor works so well is because we all know how every “bad” thing that happens at that age feels like the end of the world, so the creators just run with that exaggeration in literally every way, from the voices to the animation and even to the music. It really is just silly on all fronts instead of taking itself too seriously, which is exactly how it should be. That’s not to say it doesn’t know how to take itself seriously, it certainly can, but it knows the appeal of getting people to relate on the level in an endearing way first lol.

My partner managed a smoothie shop for a while. I think celery juice was on the menu at one point. Can't imagine ordering it tho lmao You've hit the nail on the head on why this show is so good: it's incredibly relatable. You can tell the author is thinking about real human experience compared to so many other trope-laden and idealistic series when writing characters that are this age in this setting. I was honestly a little surprised to see this end up on the cringe tier, although it probably never would have made it as a man series poll option so I'm grateful!

In the Volume 3 Extras of the manga there's some extra dialogue here where he says a rope would scratch him too much. I suppose he just gave up on it simply because the rope would've been uncomfortable on his neck. I guess that's dark humour for you. I do think the anime made it a bit darker with the static and the narrator reacting to it at the end, but oh well.
