Apple always been shitty and anti-consumer. Not surprising they'd do this. Now that the rest of tech has long caught up and their longtime strategy of forcing customers to buy in fully to their ecosystem or be locked out of functionality has started to fall apart, I'm sure they'll continue to find ways like this to try and rip off consumers at any turn possible.

I will add though that in-app subscriptions make it easy to UN-subscribe; just go to the App Store with a single click. Nowadays trying unsub is a pain in the ass and they do it on purpose. If they’re adding these charges to also deter people from being able to unsub easily then that’s just crazy. Well done with my rant, just had to put my tin foil hat on xD

Good thing almost all of my subscriptions weren’t done through IOS. Most are ones I had b4 my IPhone. Though I did switch my payment method, so no longer using Apple Pay for subscriptions :P Not just Apple, with the way the economy is going expect extra charges for many other things :(

So if this is for all platforms on iOS... imagine how bad it is for Twitch subs. Twitch ALREADY took 50% of sub revenue and now you have an added charge from Apple. LMAO the viewer is spending so much for the creator to earn SO little. What a horrible business model. That is why I phased out subs for streams as an support incentive.

Roger that. Apple just can't help themselves. Talk about passive income. They want 30% on everything just for existing. I have never owned an iPhone. Always been other teams so its all a bit off to me.

This is not only a Patreon thing. Move all your subscriptions away from app store purchases. Even the browser on your phone will get around this extra charge
