Love the ad for apex on the magazine. The author of this manga famously would go on hiatus for weeks at a time to play in apex tournaments. It gets referenced a lot late in the manga

Coincidentally there is a new Anne of Green Gables anime airing right now (and its like the 5th time this book has been adapted into an anime) Also, I think the President was more stressed out in this one teaser than in both seasons of the show combined XD

It was Kaguya responding with her favourite anime being 'Anne of Green Gables" that made me go down a rabbit hole 3 years ago of finding out just how massive that series is in Japan. After WW2 Anne of Green Gables was one of the first english books to be brought over and translated into Japanese and was so popular it was mandatory reading in the school curriculum for a while. It was adapted into a 1979 anime directed by Isao Takahata who would later go on to co-found studio Ghibli. And literally this season of anime another adaptation of the books is airing simply titled "Anne Shirley". Obviously this has no relevance to anything in the show I just thought it was super interesting.

Yeah anime fans went through the same thing, ten to fifteen years ago it was considered nerdy and you'd get bullied. Back then it'd generally be ok to watch Dragonball and nothing else. I got made fun of for wearing a Naruto shirt in elementary school, and in high school I got teased for wearing AOT backpack pins
