At least here they got to a kiss and it's a sealed deal. A good chunk of romance anime (and the reason I don't watch purely romance anime anymore) ends with "and then they held hands" or "now they became good friends who have hots for each other"

Well articulated. That is exactly what she meant by ridiculous and exactly why she was laughing a little about it. Also what an awesome anecdote from your life... when it feels right, I guess even burger king works as a romantic setting.

Other people mentioned it but the "ridiculous" comment from Kaguya was a playful one. More of a "oh you didn't have to go through all this effort just for me!" kind of vibe, which is basically what she says immediately after. He could've asked her out at a Burger King with no bells and whistles and she would've been delighted either way. True story, I asked my current gf of 6.5 years out at a Burger King, no balloons, no grand master plan...worked out for me!
