thats kinda why i like vampires over other things like zombies and whatnot, because you can have 5d chess big head vampires, and feral vampires, and shamblers, and everything between and beyond, and because of the age thing, you can have it from all different societies and times periods which add extra layers.

Right, but what is stopping the original creation process of having main dude be grown and just introverted and the vampire theme is the same? You kinda have to do outta your way ti make him 14 and her 40 some.

Valid opinions. It is weird, but I feel like it as shucks said, it’s used for the larger theme of the show which is vampires. The focus on the ‘love’ fades after a bit.

Watching this for the first time, I am curious as to what might happen if and when other vampires get introduced to the story. Castlevania showed us that vampires can be both sane and insane. Logical and illogical. So far, we have a basis of one on what vampires are like in this world.

First off, your thoughts at the end are completely fair and I felt the same way my first watch of this, not trying to dispute them or say it isn't weird, because it is weird. All I will say is that this is not Mushoku Tensei, they do not glorify, justify or reward this idea in the narrative. Its used as a piece for the larger themes, and is handled well by the end of the series. I cannot stomach mushoku tensei for this very reason, but this story is in my top 10. I don't think how its portrayed moving forward will put you off too much, and it doesn't get to be too much at any point imo, but I would get it if you wanted to stop anyways.
